To be honest...I don't read the VSG or the main forum that much anymore. Not because of the immature posts but because I just don't have the time. The number of posts that go up in a day has increased...I just can't keep up. I've been so busy at work and with living life that I just can't get around to it.
I still post the daily maint weigh-in's that's really for my own accountability. I read the maint group all the time as I get much value out of it.
I do try to post a positive post now and again to help provide some guidance.

I stopped reading much of the main board a while ago. There are way too many posts each day and I too get frustrated with some of the discussions. The only time I read it is when DH is watching TV and I am bored and don't have anything else to do.
Frisco, you are needed to help knock some sense into some of those newbies heads!
There are too many folks out there that are using their sleeve as "the easy way out" when it is simply a tool in the journey they are beginning.

I'm about there with Frisco. Sadly, you are such an amazing example, and I've drawn great knowledge and support from your posts even though we do not interact that much one on one, you still have made a true difference in my journey. Anytime I've felt like throwing in the towel, and just do what I want, I always go back to some of your old posts.
You know the old saying "Stupid people shouldn't breed!" Well, my new thought is "stupid people shouldn't sleeve!" I'm at that point, it could be pregnancy related, hormones going insane, but honestly, I just don't get it. I really, really don't and all the PollyAnna, self-pity, whining is just over the top right now. I can't help, but just back away.
I'm in no way saying that people can not be educated on VSG, or make informed choices, but there is a vast difference between ignorant and stupid. Ignorance can be resolved; stupid can not!

Hi Frisco...
I had to go and read that post...I can't imagine anyone doing that!!...was I wrong!! I too was a major Diet coke girl but I wanted my sleeve more than I wanted my diet coke so I gave it up a month before surgery and have never had even a sip since. You have to want this to work and make changes to do it right!! It is very fustrating when people do such stupid things...but please don't give up on the maintenance board...we need you!! I have gotten so much support and good information from your posts..we need you Frisco!! You are always honest and informative...and very supportive! And not to mention I love your food pics..they are inspiring!!

Honestly, Frisco, I think that's a good idea. It's just going to make you crazy. My viewpoint is that these forums are meant to be SUPPORT for us, and if the content is driving you away, then don't read it. I read perhaps one out of 15 posts on the main board. I answer very occasionally if someone has a specific question that only someone far out from surgery can answer. I think you being around occasionally, posting a recipe or updating the newbies on how you are doing, is very supportive of them--and this is why I bother posting there at all--just letting them know that people can maintain for the long term. But it really is each person's individual journey. Let it go so that you don't end up so frustrated that you leave all together...
