from memory day 5 puts you back to solid protein so id, keep going with day 5 over and over. if your not struggling with it.
when you add back in carbs if you do low carb  keep your carbs to under 40grams a day and protein min 70-80 grams.. fluids id try to get at least a couple of litres

Hi Dean.

I'm going to be in South Africa in October and am looking for some nice tasting low carb/calorie protein powder i can find in Pretoria or Joburg.  Any suggestions?

Hi Hally.,

Unfortunately not much to choose from here.   We are so envious of the americans with the wide variety of choice they have.

During the years i have found the only one that does not make me sick after a few days of use and does not have the crappy taste overpowering everything is G.I.LEAN.

It is availble from the Clicks range of stores in South Africa.

Let me know when ou are here and whe you will be, and perhaps we can meet for a diet shake---haha.

Regards
Deon.

Wow, great job!  I'd stick with very low carb (under 40) and high protein.  Maybe keep it under 1000 cal/day total.  Keep us posted!

Thanks so much.

I am going to try to keep the calories down.
I will try for 1000, but being as big as i still am i think it will be a struggle to keep up my strength.
What do you think?

Love
Deon.

don't know how many calories you need but experiement. if you get in enough fluid & protein I'll bet you feel fine - your stored fat supplies the energy you need, that's what it's there for.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Hi Jackie,

What % would you think should be Carbs on a1000 calories a day?

Would the rest the be split 30 /70 between fats and protien?

Forgive my ignorance.

This calorie counting is new to me.

Thanks.
Deon

Deon, I'm sorry I don't know - never did the counting thing.  I'll bet there are folks here who do, though, like Frisco?  hope they will chime in.

if not, start a new thread to ask and then they will see it.

glad it's going so well for you!!

hugs

Hey Deon, for me I never counted fat and here is why, when I kept my carbs low and got my protein in within the parameters of my caloric count, the fats took care of themselves.

As a manly man!!!!  Definitely shoot for at LEAST 90 g of protein (especially since you are probably still healing up from your surgeries yes?).  This plus keeping carbs lower should keep your fats under control.

Also, if counting is new to you, maybe use an on line tracker?

myfitnesspal.com was my favorite free one, but there are many that folks use!

Good job fella!  You can do this thing!
