Medical Loans for VSG - can the money be used for a mexican surgeon?

Hi Everyone!
I have a young friend who wants to get a VSG, but unfortunately, her insurance doesn't cover WLS.
Did any of you get a medical loan to get your VSG? If so, what was the company?? I'm just looking to see what average out of pocket is for the VSG. I'd also like to know if you get some kind of medical loan, can it only be used state side? I know there are some great VSG surgeons in Mexico. She's researching as well, but I knew where to come to get good answers!

I can't speak for the medical loans.  I went to Dr. Alvarez in Mexico and used a combination of home equity and pension withdraw.  It cost $8999 all inclusive and was worth every penny.  I know he has a link to financing, but I think the interest on those medical loans is probably really high.
