i have been on medical leave from work for a severe balance problem..ive been off for almost 5 months now.  i have gained 7 pounds and feel miserable.  i know its  my fault because im eating out of boredom..i have found that i can eat chips, cookies, ice cream..basically all of the old stuff i could before weightloss.  i cant really exercise bc of the balance issues nor can i drive..so i sit home alone.  i do have my husband here but he works 2nd shift(1pm-1am). i mean i absolutely know this is my fault but i have trouble with the head hunger now..i beat myself up about and critize myself in the mirror..i just feel like givin up and maybe i wasnt worthy enough for this great gift i was given.

I think the first thing to do is stop beating your self up, now is the time to get positive and use your sleeve, instead of having it work against you.. you can turn this around and get back on track..

you have done the right thing by not burying your head in the sand and pretending its not happening, you can turn this around before it does get out of control and your 7 lbs becomes 10. 15 or 20

time now is to get back to basics, protein protein protein, and when your not eating your protein really push your fluids...  Its going to take a few days to clear your system from the carb monster..   Give your self a couple of weeks doing this so all our carbs cravings dissappear.

you should get rid of all of the junk food in your house so you have nothing to tempt you,.. It makes life so much easier.. I got sugar free popsicles for something to snack on at night if i needed something sweet and they also counted towards fluids.. for times when your snacky i used chicken broth and didnt limit it,  anytime i was even slightly hungry i had a cup and it helped me get over the hardest first few days.

I had a regain of over 20lbs some of it from the over the holiday period last year i struggled to get off and them more from this year when i allowed cakes and coffee drinks to enter my life..
In the last 8 weeks i have taken off  20lbs and am now back  at the top end of my goal range.. so still a couple more to lose..
If you need support with it let me know and ill help in anyway i can...

you can do this...

Mz Chris, do you have a Kroger Store near you?  (Maybe its Fred Meyer there? but I think its Kroger)  Anyway, some of the best canned chicken broth I have ever had is College Inn brand and I can only find it in the BIG cans at Kroger stores.

Mz Linda will be back to share her fave, but I just wanted to share that, since I think yall have Kroger stores too!

Good luck girlie!  Take care of you! You dont have to go back where you came from if you doan wanna!

If you could get to a pool, it sounds like that would be a great workout for you.... do you swim?  Is there a pool in your area?

Good luck honey, we are cheering you on.  I gained 13 lbs and I am working to get it off, you are not alone.

Grab the bull by the horns and take control again,

Cindy

Look at all of us in maintenance and working so hard to keep it off! I gained 9 and really started freaking out. I had done so well before because I was alone a lot and nobody brought junk food into the house.

That all changed when I met my bf. Having a bf is one of the many blessing of WLS, so I know what I have to do cause I do gain easily.

We can do this. Maintenance is for life now! I am so thankful for this board. I'd be lost on my own without all of you and that's a scary thought.
