Bat wings - Be GONE!
You will do great, Wanda! That surgery was one of the best things I did post-op. I'm a church choir director, and I almost beat myself to death flapppity-slappity-slapping away!
I'm two years post-brachio, and for a while I thought the scars would be really bad. (I'm 58, fair-skinned, and scar pretty badly.) But I realized just the other day that the scars were hardly noticeable.
One thing I noticed was that it took a good year at least before my arms seemed normal shaped. At first I looked sort of Popeye-like -- little upper arms with big forearms. Now they look pretty normal ... and most of all SHIRTS FIT!! My gosh, trying to stuff those wingy-thingies into a shirt was not fun!
Suggestion for sleeping: I bought a couple of cheap bolsters (round hard cushions), wrapped them in old towels, and positioned them in the bed to support my arms. Worked like a charm!
So anyway, best wishes on your surgery! I'm sending up a li'l prayer for you :-)
