Who drinks a Protein Drink for Breakfast and which is best?

If you have to limit eggs, have you tried egg whites with some type of filler? Egg beaters also come to mind. I find that eggs, egg beaters, and a little low-fat cheese and salsa, are very filling. Protein shakes never did anything for me, except when I needed to supplement my protein. Perhaps, adding some sort of protein in the AM, would help with your protein intake and the denseness would help to keep you full longer.

GY by itself isn't very filling, but I add some blueberries and non-flavored protein powder (beneprotein). I have also started adding 1/3 cup of a high fiber cereal (Smart Bran and Physillium with Oatbran). The GY has about 18 grams of protein and when I add 1 or 2 packets of protein to the yogurt, the protein content goes to 24-30 grams of protein. Keeps me full for a few hours. I couldn't imagine going without breakfast, even though I make myself eat it, at times.

The beneprotein is a medical grade whey protein without artificial sweetners and blends with everything. I have even put in chili. Each packet is about 6 grams, but since I am just supplementing with one or two packets, it meets my needs. Plus, it is great for traveling. I get mine from Amazon.com. You could even use it in non-fat or lowfat milk.

The other protein that I could tolerate was the Premier Chocolate Protein Drink from Costco. It is especially good, when heated for a small amount of time in the microwave.

Lately, my fav protein is Oh Yeah. Their RTD (my favs are vanilla and chocolate, but I haven't tried the strawberry and banana yet) and the vanilla powder mixed with water is quite good. I can drink it plain or mixed into iced coffee.

You can get sampler packs from their website for $5 for 5 vanilla powder, 3 varieties of the large RTD protein or 5 varieties of the small RTD protein. and there's reduced shipping too. Even better, you can take advantage of this deal once a month!

I have been using a combination of a mix of Nesquick No Sugar, Dry Skim Milk, and Body Fortress Chocolate Whey protein powders blended into a tasty Hot Chocolate drink over the past two years for Breakfast 4-5 days a week. It gives me 36g of protein at 256 Calories and 16+ ounces of water. Win -Win.
I will sometime add a McDonald Large Non Fat Latte with Sugar Free Vanilla flavoring as a snack @ 110 Calories and 11 g of protein.
Two years into this journey and down to 174 lbs (normal BMI finally) after losing 186 lbs. I can even get into USMC Dress Blues for the first time since 1970.

milk disgusts me in general but especially early in the morning.

my choice is Syntrax Nectars!! mix with water and it goes down that easy. I do the naturals because I don't like fake sugars but if you don't mind it's cheaper to do regular.

the best is Strawberry Kiwi - give it a try!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I've been using the GNC Hydro Whey Turbo Chocolate.  It's good as a shake or hot as cocoa.

140 calories
2 carbs
0 sugars
30 protein per scoop

What I really like for breakfast because it fills me longer than a drink is

Bodytech Protein Pudding by Vitamin Shoppe
145 calories
4 carbs
25 protein
tastes just like regular chocolate pudding to me - it's buy 1 get 1 50% off right now which I wouldn't have known unless I googled it for the nutritionals just now.  :)  YAY... off to order!

Hi Donna,
I've been drinking those as well!  I ordered them when GNC had free shipping and a sale on them so that I could try them.  I like eating Protein Crisps for breakfast sometimes like cereal and I use the Lean Shake as the "milk".  I figure it's better than milk which I don't drink anyhow and I'm getting added protein.  win/win for me!

I tried the Strawberry for a change and it wasn't bad either.
