Well saw my doctor today. I have 20 more lbs to lose than I will be getting my tummy tuck. By the time I have mine I will be 18 months out. My doctor does not use the pain pump that you come home with because the longer you keep the drains in you can get an infection. So he told me he does not use the pain pump any more.

I know some of us on here has had a tummy tuck can you please tell me how bad the pain is. And for how long were you in pain. I am not to sure I am ready to do this need some feed back about a tummy tuck thanks val.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Let me start by saying that my tummy tuck was one of the best things I ever did for myself.  I had a TT and breast reduction in 2003, five years before my weight loss surgery.  I had just lost a bunch of weight on Weigh****chers ... which, of course, I gained back later, heh heh.

Then I'll say that it was pretty painful the first day or two.  Not pain when I was just lying there or sitting there but pain when I used my stomach muscles, which had been cut and tightened.  So I think it depends on if muscles are cut during the procedure or if only skin and flab are cut off.

Here, eight years later, I wouldn't trade my TT ... or my sleeve ... for anything.  Don't worry about the pain.  Some people have it, some don't; but either way it will be gone before you know it.  And they may not use pain pumps, but there are plenty of other options for pain reduction.  If we survived it, so can you!
