Where I went wrong... If I could do it again.... What I am going to do now...
So good to have you back, Cindy! You have a great plan, and it is encouraging to me, too. I'm really struggling with the 20+ pounds I put on a year ago when I had back surgery, and try as I might, I just can't seem to clean up my act. Gets better, gets worse, gets better, gets worse ... and the excess poundage just hangs there on my backside! Best wishes to you in this next step of your journey :-)

HI Dorothy,
I know just what you mean, I don't know if I have it in me to lose what I gained. I just can't seem to get and keep it together... But... I am going to try.
The main thing right now is not the weight, it is the health, and that is my focus... the weight will either take care of itself, or be my focus later on...
Hugs to you and sorry you can't seem to get that 20 lbs off, I so understand... but hope you can get it off again if it makes you feel better... if you prefer to sit on a boney butt I get it :)

Welcome back, Cindy!
I wondered where you went. I always enjoyed your posts.
Your plan sounds good and returning to OH is great step. This is truly a journey and we are never, ever "there." Maintaining our weight loss takes mindfulness, healthy choices, and truly involves lifestyle changes. The further out that I get from surgery, it is less about the surgery and more about the choices that I make on a daily basis. The old habits are just under the surface, waiting to pop up. There isn't a magic bullet. Even thin people work at it, by exercising and making healthy choices.
This is a wonderful place to get support and you may find that posting on OH and resuming your exercise will work wonders for your mood.

Oh Cindy.....can't tell you how much I've missed your posts. You are one of the few that I've actually chatted with. I've missed you girl! I recently came back too! Gained 23 lbs over the past year. I've lost 6 of it since 8/15. I am so grateful to get back. The first step for me was to get back on the scale for a reality check. I knew I was gaining, underwear was tight and that was my ultimate first clue! I feel so much better, eating healthly and logging my food and staying on the boards "daily". I got into eating out 99% of the time. Can't do that and expect not to gain weight! I got into night eating (dry cereal "galore"). So, my current plan is to eat healthy. I don't eat a heavy dinner, maybe a greek yogurt smoothie or a protein drink. I get plenty of protein/cals by doing this. Dinner out? Yes, went out last Sat and had a wonderful dinner. I sleep better and even treat people better. I celebrated my 1 year of sobriety on 7/16. Yes, the sleeve is a fantastic tool, but the real magic, for me comes when I work with it, not against it. I am SO, SO glad to be back. Love you!!
welcome back

Hi Cindy. These are all very important insights. Thanks for posting them. We have missed you andyour remarks. Hope you will be with us for awhile. Checking into OH daily really helps keep us all sane and in the game here. This process is lifelong and it helps so much to keep learning all the time. Its amazing what people have to offer here - you especially. Diane
Welcome back! You have been missed! I think about you often and hoped that you were well, and I'm glad to see that you are!
Yes, maintenance is something that we will have to work at for the rest of our lives, but I have come to realize-why shouldn't it be? Everything in life takes work. Just look at my two college kids- I thought that when they got older, things would get easier but it never ends! I guess that my maintenance is going to be like my parenting- something I will have to work on until I die
Big hugs!
Missed you!

Ahhh. There's that Cindy we all grew to love! Starting to love yourself back, which you deserve!
This post actually brought tears to my eyes because I have been thinking about you ever since you responded to my "survey". I hate when one of my heros starts to fall and I don't know what to do to help. Glad you are "back".
