I know this isn't a race, but just curious how long it took for you to reach your personal goal? I'm halfway there.. things are slowing, though my activity level is increasing now that I can move without discomfort most times.. I have at least 62lbs to go, possibly more as the number I chose was just for ****s n giggles.. I may wind up higher or lower, who knows.

Started this deal at 280, lost 16 pre-op.. the rest has fallen at a fairly steady rate till the last 4 weeks or so.. now it's more erratic, despite nothing changing on my end. Oh yeah, I battled some pretty heavy fatigue post op for a few months, now finally with the help of my treadmill and pushing some hill climbs I'm finally feeling more pep, need to get the stamina back up for some serious fall hikes!! Weights are starting this weekend once I pad the w/o room so I don't kill myself on the wood floors! Still waiting to get my copy of my labs..

It took me about 8 ,months to get where I wanted to be.  It went fairly easily at first, maybe about 6-8 lbs a month.  The last couple of months it was more like 4 lbs a month.  Right now I seem to be losing about 1-2 lbs a month.  I am taking in more calories.  1000-1200/day.  Still do low carbs, high protein.  I do exercise.  Nothing earth shattering, lots of fast walks and I use dumbbells 3 or 4 times a week.  Best wishes.  You'll get there

Well it took me about 10 months to get to where my surgeon told me I was done but I lost a little more over the next couple of months so I guess it was a year. I was not a fast loser but a pretty steady one.  Diane

it was a little over a year but the last few months it went very, very slow. I was certain I was done losing maybe 15 pounds before I actually was.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Took me 11 months to get to my first goal weight..........

So here is a little of my truth.......To lose the last 20-30lbs. It's work, It's hard and you gotta fight for every pound.......

That said, It was a very rewarding fight.....when did I ever in my life, have a chance to have a fight to get down to 150lbs ???????

Took it 5lbs at a time.....we coulda stopped at any 5lb. increment......we just fought till we got there.

It was truly like crossing the finish line at the Olympics (the bariatric version) when my surgoen said "Stop, Your Done.....Thats 100%......Thats perfection!" I'm like....OK were stoppin here.....was perfect cause my WL hit a brick wall.

It has taken me exactly 8 months to lose 100 pounds. My surgery weight was 236 ... on Sunday, my 8 month surgiversary, I made it to 136. That is less than what Dr. C had predicted for me. He did not set a goal for me. I want to actually get down to 130 ... and I am ... just slowly now.

1st month - 20.9
2nd month - 12
3rd month - 13.2
4th month - 13
5th month - 13.1
6th month - 10.6
7th month - 9.4
8th month - 7.8

I eat really clean on weekdays .. stay within 600 - 700 calories, 80 - 100 grams protein, and less than 30 gram carbs. Now the weekends are another story ... that is when I tend to up the cals and carbs. I usually have a small gain on Monday or Tuesday and have lost it plus more by Wednesday.

I am wearing size 4 jeans and petite small tops, so I could be done. But I really want to lose that little bit more to get to 130.

You are doing great and good luck.

My only weight goal was to be a normal BMI. I got there in 6.5 months. But I was still overweight (as I expected to be) so I kept losing. I got to my lowest weight at around 10.5 months and since then I've been adjusting and tweeking.

6 months to the point I said "this size is fine" (that was an 8) and then switched from weight loss to body composition goals, a month later I was a 6 which is where I have stayed, size wise, but my weight has a flux between 145 to 155 - lately I have been really looking at the upper 140s and the difference in my skin with just 5 extra pounds on me is pretty dramatic, so have been staying closer in the lower 150s than I have to the 145ishness.

I did not really have anything to start out with goal wise, except what was "normal" on the BMI, and I chose mid of normal, which was 133 - which *may* have been possible if I had never flipped to body composition mode, (Maybe!) but now, what I see is even closer to the 140s, unless I have *much* more muscle built up in my legs (my hamstring area) that my skin will be Not Preeettteee.

Good job girlie!

Started at 357, Lost 48 pounds Pre-op. Doctor said he would be happy if I got to the mid 200's. I set my goal for 220. Got to my goal in under 7 months. I dropped about 20 more pounds from the orginal goal that I set. Don't belive in BMI. As I'm still technically over weight but I have about 20% body fat so I'm happy here. I'd look horrible if I was to get down to a normal BMI. Here are my monthly stats (haven't updated the last couple of months yet).

I'm still not there, but given the rate I'm going, I'll be at my next goal (which is still not normal BMI, but where I think I will be happy) by December when I'll be getting my extra stomach skin removed.

But boy, have things slowed down.  After more than a year of doing this, I feel like I'm losing some of my diet stamina.  Staying focused takes much more effort, getting out to exercise is less of a priority (although it should be even more of a priority).

You can do it, though, just keep plugging away.
