Iron and hunger, a hmmmm moment

 very interesting post - I have a friend that is obese (she was only over weight just a few years ago) and she is hungry all the time. I know her Vit D is low, wonder about her iron.   she has very pasty colored skin, too, if that means anything.  it's an unhealthy color.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I wonder if she also, because of weight gain, may have sleep issues and that cranks up her hunger?  Member when Trish had gotten herself off her CPAP and then after she realized she needed it still, and I mentioned lack of good sleep also being a hunger driving mechanism.

I was hungry all the time. Boo to that mess.  I am so incredibly thankful for reasonable hunger.

I wouldn't be surprised, these problems seem to pile up, don't they? she recently found out her thyroid isn't up to par. thing is, she wants to just take a pill for that - like she takes a pill for depression and gets mad if I ever talk about lifestyle changes as though you couldn't do both - and hasn't even gotten herself some vit D3 to take.

I have trouble with the attitude. I know she feel awful - been there!!!  but god, you know you are low on D - buy some D and  make yourself take it!!!

sorry, had a little rant there.  sometimes people just don't listen to me when I now it all, dammit.

and I've been meaning to tell you, your new avie photo is ADORABLE!!!

Yea, nothing quite as delightful as a metabolic 87 car crash with more generic physical problem cars coming to join the pile up!!

Its okay to be frustrated, its hard to watch someone you love work hard on destroying themselves, even if its passively.  :{

Why thank you!  it was vacation.  yaay, vacation!  :}

 "Could it be that my body was giving off signs of hunger as an inducement for more iron in my diet?"

Maybe. But, like Brandilynn, deficiencies are more likely to get me to crave certain foods that give me overall hunger. I also crave ice cream when I'm not drinking enough fluids.

Also, for all you with obese friends who are hungry all the time, that's more likely to be excess ghrelin like we all had pre-op.
