Profferin was highly recommended to me by a friend who owns a pharmacy.  So far, no constipation at all.

Tender iron seems to do that to me, but I also discovered Vitalady's Tender Cal/Mg/D3 took care of that issue.. so well in fact that I only take 4 of hers, and a dose of straight cal citrate powder.. not sure if you do calcium supplements- but the amount of Mg in those is more than enough to keep me regular.. prior to that- Miralax, a dose a day worked fantastic. Gentle too..

Another thinking thought about hunger and iron, girlie.

You know, being worn out, weary, sleep deprived, all of those things seem to rile up hunger, I wonder if you have been feeling worn out from all yall's summery adventures, but did not notice it since it was maybe overloaded with excitement, or maybe was sort of anticipated because yall were busy and so you did not connect increased hunger with fatigue, perhaps?

Just thinking because lack of good sleep and night shift create a superhongries me, and anemia creates a worn out me and wondered if its the same mechanism (compensation for weariness) that drives the hunger up?

Just more thoughts to toss in the think tank burn pile!

You bring up a great point.  This Summer I have been running on all cylinders.  I had the kids and I worked and we did everything possible to make up for all the lost time when I couldn't or wouldn't do much physically.  Being anemic and doing so much more then usual may have worn me out and increased my hunger.  But the hunger did go away while I was still very active.  The kids only went back to school today and we were camping all weekend.  It is something to watch for now.  Maybe my body is just adjusting to having more iron.

Very interesting!  Something similar crossed my mind recently.  I am due for my 2 year labs in Sept and have been craving red meat (and as always, hungry), so I bought some Profferin to be proactive.  I can't say that I am less hungry yet, but I'm really only taking one every other day.  I will be following this one up!

Interesting observation. I have never had low iron but my sister in law is anemic and craves meat and is hungry all the time and very obese. The low iron has gone on for some time. She might take some supplements now but generally avoids all medical attention. Perhaps her low iron contributes to her overeating.   Diane
