I'm trying something, and it may be dumb.

Have any of you watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead," or something like that?  The guy drinks nothing but veg / fruit juice that he juices himself for two months.  Lost a ton of weight and cured himself of some physical problems.

Well, I'm not going that far.  Can't stand the taste of veggie juice ... and can't stand to clean my juicer, heh heh.  What I am trying is *eating* mostly fruit and veg, along with nuts and a little dairy.  So far (I'm on day three), I am moderately pleased by the fact that I have had virtually no processed food, an enormous improvement; however, I am bloody starving (all that fruit sugar coursing through my system!), and am not getting near enough protein.

The reason I wanted to try this is that I have been feeling like crap lately.  Naturally when a gal eats crap she is going to feel like crap!  And when I tried to just eat protein and veg, I couldn't stick with it.  This experiment was different enough that I thought it might intrigue me enough to keep me interested for a while.

Any thoughts from you all?  Thanks for listening!

Hooray for the non processed foods!

This though..

"I am bloody starving (all that fruit sugar coursing through my system!), and am not getting near enough protein."

What is the solution for those things?  Do either of those things equal long run sustainable feedings and optimal health for you?

Is there a way to up your protein a bit, either through dense protein sources or shakes and just tweak back the fruit a bit?

If you could imagine an optimally nutritious meal plan with all the stuff you *know* about how YOUR body runs best, what would that look like?  (how you *know* your body runs best, not how you wi**** did.  :p sillygoose!).

What are you willing to do, long term girlie. Can you see yourself consistently eating like this long term and being satisfied and it being sustainable and something you could maintain with what you know now?

Please keep us posted on how you feel and your results.

I have never really understood why we had to push for so much protein.  We do not malabsorb, we just have smaller stomachs.  Everything we eat gets processed.  That is part of my weight gain.  I would eat something higher in carbs and then push protein on top of that to get to a certain protein level.  Even though it was protein, I was pushing my calorie intake to a higher level for the day.  If I had just concentrated on a well rounded diet, I think I would have done better and not had so many cravings.  I am trying to eat a more natural diet right now.  It may take me longer to get the weight back off, but I find I am more satisfied and not pushing protein to make it to a certain level.  We are all a work in progress.

Best of luck to you and can't wait to see your results.....Dee

I do not process everything :{  I have to have shakes because it does not matter how much dense protein I eat, without 3 shakes a day, my protein labs swirl down the commode.

I think that finding a way that is sustainable is so important!  And if you have found it and that your body is responding the way you like then that is a good thing!

I know I cannot just do the 5 day pouch thing, because that tosses me back into disordered behavior.

BOoooo.

Good job finding your middle ground, Dee!

Hey Brandilynn Wonderland ♥
I drink Pure Protein Shakes, 35 gms per can, 2 gms of carbs and 160 cals/serving.  I like the taste and the high protein.  Is this a good one?

Hi babygirl!

If you like it, you will drink it and it fits into your foodstuffs, then I say, yea!  Its a good one!

I think a bad protein drink is one you wont drink, or that costs too much (moneywise or nutrient value wise) for your budget! I(again, money wise or nutrient value wise!)!

You know "good" taste wise varies so, but you cant argue with "I like it, will consume it,  and it doesnt blow my budget!" :}

I love Pure Protein, especially since the carbs are so low, just wi**** had more fiber, but I can always supplement in other ways.....I'm so glad you are still on the boards....makes my day ♥

I am always somewhere around!  Sometimes I dont come over here to play much because sometimes the sharing of what folks are doing triggers me to want to be restrictive when I am not on a firm foundation.

I never have to worrying about slipping into worry about a stall, or my hair falling out, or if ********* counts as protein, or what my skin will look like, so the VSG board is safer for my Trixy when I am not on firm foundation :}  Those things are done, done, and I know the answer to the questions!

Do you need fiber for your BMs?  Or just you would rather it have more fiber in general?  I was putting flax seed in my shakes, until I realized that when I did, my har fell out, so somehow it was keeping me from absorbing my protein like I ought to be. B to the OOOOO

This was definitely not in that glossy brochure, but I am doing my part to stay healthy happy and whooole!

I am never far.  Mostly just lurking or saving my words for work, where I get paid for them. :}

So, does ejacculate counts as a protein?  LOL!  You are so funny!  My BMs are good.  Just thought more fiber would be better.  I don't know why?  Something to do with more weight loss.....LOL!  Occasionally I eat flax seed hot cereal for breakfast.  Doesn't taste that great until I add some cinnamon and truvia to it.  I like to use unsweetened soy instead of water. So, too much fiber makes you hair fall out and ***** with protein absorption?  I didn't know that.
Very interesting. I think my fiber intake is just fine...LOL!  I'll check the VSG board.  I just get tired of same questions over and over again.  I'll check it out again. If it works for you and I know it will work for me.  I like your style!  Love you girlie!

You'd really need to glug a lot of ********* for it to count for much.  :}

Gotcha about the fiber.

No, anything mixed with my protein shakes (anything like fruit, or flax seed or yogurt as an ice cube) seems to keep me from absorbing it as well as I otherwise do.  I keep my eye out to see about other folks' protein absorption, MacM seems to have hers under control and I have not actually seen anyone else whose dropped so low as to have to add shakes back (only have had folks ask about it as a precautionary measure), so ?  I know I am freaky in some ways but this was not an expected one!

I know what you mean about the questions, but, there are a zillion and a half folks now to answer the questions, so, we do not *have* to answer them.  Whether they would answer them the way we might?  That's a whole nuther ball o wax!  So yaaay for that!

Love you back, beebs.  Time for my honey-do's!  Hooray!  chores!
