VSG Maintenance Group
Regaining
If you look back through older posts in this group you will see many like yours and lots of great advice. Mostly you have to return to food journaling, cut out the highter calorie items that have becme a bad habit, and make sure you are getting 70 g protein a day. You might do one protein drink meal a day. You will need to figure out how many calories you need to keep from gaining and stick in that range and go below it to lose the regained weight. Lots of folks have done this and you can too. I find I really have to avoid the refined carbs to maintain and just accept that I maintain on about 1200 calories a day. GL. you can do this. Diane
How wonderful that you have recognized the problem and are willing to deal with it at "only" 10-12 lbs. Before surgery, I would be an ostrich and pretend the problem was not happening until I was obese again. I think Diana gave you excellent advice. I would start journaling again, eat mostly lean, dense protein and veggies and limit snacking. Find the caloric range you need to stay in to lose and keep your daily calories there until you once again declare victory. What you are going through is not a failure on your part, this thing is for the rest of our lives, and we will almost certainly all be in your shoes at one time or another. The true sign of permanent success will be in how you deal with this small regain. Just the fact that you have noticed it and wrote about it, shows me that you are a winner. Please keep posting about your journey back to goal, both the small victories and the setbacks. No one here will judge you, we have all been there, done that and understand deeply. Good luck to you.

I've put a few back on too because my bf keeps bringing bad food into the house. Usually eating protein and veggies and really makings sure to cut out carbs takes me right back to my goal weight.
It's so easy to sneak in a treat and think we aren't really doing much damage but I know they add up quickly and I'll see it on the scale if I am not diligent about giving up the bad carbs.
