Goals are funny things....
When I started this journey I imagined myself at 130 lbs (I am 5'3" or 5'4" depending on who's measuring). Based on past experience I thought this is where I would need to be to be in a single-digit size (which was my REAL goal).
So, here I am at 148.8 and I bought 3 pair of pants today in a size 6 (my UBER goal) - and I'm wearing a SMALL (not medium - oh my goodness) in scrubs and stretchy pants. Now - my lean muscle mass is not where I want it - YET (but I'm working hard at this) - BUT - I think my weight, and size are fine, just fine. Thoughts anyone? I'm sure some of you have been here.

There is nothing wrong with revising your goal. What does your surgeon say? This is a pretty personal issue because on the one hand if you are going to lose any more weight the best time is now before you get a year or more past your surgery date. I am about your height and my surgeon told me I was done when I got to 137. Stopping losing took awhile and I ended up at 118. Yet my surgeon says that is fine and stay there. I have a friend here who is the same height and is at 138 and looks great and is in size 4 jeans - smaller than I wear. So its all relative - some of us have more muscle mass and heavier bones or I don't know what.
If I were you I would lose just a little more to allow for some rebound later on and then work on that muscle thing. you might start transistioning into maintenance phase by adding in a few more calories and watching how that affects your weight and finding the right amount to maintain. And remember just because you get to your goal doesn't mean you can just stop counting protein and calories. This needs to be done for awhile longer to make sure you stay in your range. Some people are able to eventually stop this as they know by feel what to eat, but I still do it daily.
congrats on your success. Diane

Thanks Diane! Surgeon, Internist, OB/GYN, friends, family - everyone says I should be done. I completely agree I should lose below where I realy want to be - which I kind of have. My real goal was to be a single-digit size. Now able to wear a 6 I've got a little room just in case. Thing is - I'm not working very hard at it right now. Just living life, tracking everything (and keeping it all reasonable), and exercising consistently. I kind of figure I'll keep doing what I'm doing and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it!!
Congratulations on getting to your size goal, Hang in there and you'll be at your weight goal in no time.
Yes, it is strange. I am five 3,(used to be 5ft 4 before I shrunk) I weigh 125, and wear a size 8-10. My muscle mass is definitely not where it needs to be, and that is probably my biggest problem.

I think all of our bodies are different and are proportioned differently, and so weight is only one indicator of size. I'm 5'5" - 5'6" and weigh around 143, a couple of pounds below goal. I'm comfortably in a size 6. A friend is bouncing around 135-140lbs and is also in a size 6. Probably more comfortably than I am!! (grin). Plus I know my extra skin muffins weigh something too, so I might be more in the high 130's for all I know. I think if what you're doing works then whatever, call goal if you're comfortable doing so.
Thing is - I guess it really doesn't matter. Nothing will really change at goal, so I guess I should let my body do what it's gonna do... Weird not having a weight to strive toward though - been doing that for so long!! Guess I'll change my goal to a lean muscle mass goal - rather than a weight goal. Thanks for the input!
It's definitely about size and not weight.

For me, I go by body fat percentage. If mine is under 20%, I'm happy. If it's not, I'm not.

Sizes are such a funny thing! I thought I'd die to be a size 6 (and figured I'd have to get below 120 to do that). However at 135 and still quite "fluffy" in parts, I was into a 6! I was not nearly as excited as I thought I'd be cause I still had so much "fluff" on my thighs, arms, and parts of my middle (so basically everywhere). My best friend is about 6 inches taller than me, same weight, much leaner, and yet she wears a 10... go figure! I was only a size 6 for about a month or so before getting pregnant, so I still have a hard time believing that I was even there! I recently ordered some maternity jeans online and I was afraid to order a 6 cause I just didn't believe they'd fit... they did! All of my tops are smalls as well as most pants and skirts, I just see so much jiggle still that it seems hard to believe I could be what was once my dream size! So, I guess after the baby comes, I'll be trying to get into at least a size 4 by the time I lose the rest of what I want to be rid of!
