Can I expect to lose this? (pics)

Fair Warning - Pictures below!!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the maintenance board!  I'm not at goal yet, still 47 lbs away.  My belly looks hideous.  Awful.  For what it's worth, I had three back to back pregnancies and the middle one as twins.  I got absolutely huge.  Then I lost a lot of weight and gained a bunch of weight, had the sleeve and lost it all again. So here I am.  197 lbs.  I'm wearing a size 16 but th legs and thighs are so loose.  I have to cram my belly into my jeans.  If I didn't have to do that I think I may be a 12.  So here's a couple pictures.  Can I expect to lose this or do you think it's going to hang on and I'll be forever tucking it in?  Last time I lost a massive amount of weight it was there, too.  I got down to 172 lbs that time so I'm not holding out much hope.  I don't know if this is extra skin, I'm sure it has some fat with it.  But it's so floppy.  I can fold it, pull it, tuck it.  It's just there.  I have the same problem with my back.

I'm sorry to say that plastic surgery is the only thing that will make that go away. And the more weight you do lose the more it's going to hang!  Sorry.

I lost 60 pounds and I have the same thing going on!  I look like a wrinkled old lady or a melting candle, naked! Not only is it on my stomach, it's also on my inner thighs.

My upper arms look a little better from working out but  working out hasn't done anything for the stomach and legs.

A tummy tuck or lower body lift is in my near future! I am sure about one thing, that I would rather have this problem than be 60 pounds heavier!!!!!

Good Luck!

Why not check out the Plastic Surgery forum here on Obesity Help.  I went there to get information about the type of question that you're asking here.  It's the perfect place to ask questions from a group of very caring people that are willing to share their experiences.

I ditto Lee on going and asking the PS board, cuz they know stuff! But what I understand about skin is, the skin that has stretchmarks is just damaged and there isnt much shrinking/absorbing (or whatever you want to call it) that is going to happen.

Good luck on finding all of your answers!

Yup, you are going to need a tummy tuck to get rid of that lovely overhang.    I can say that with a chuckle, because that's what mine looked like!  Don't worry about it; most of us have the same problem.  It will work out fine.

Thank you all!  Looks like I'll be in Spanx for awhile because I'm not sure if plastic surgery is in my future.  It's nice to know I'm not alone but I hope once I get to goal it'll be easier to manage (i.e. tuck in!)

2 words = tummy tuck! Your belly will get smaller, but you will not lose the overhang. After the skin has been stretched with babies and gaining/losing weight it does not bounce back.
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. ~2 Chronicles 15:7

My Plastic surgeon suggested that if you get down to 30 lb of your ideal weight, that is when she is able to get the best results with the tummy tuck situation. I should think that would vary though depending upon a persons height, and where the weight is that is left.
I, too have alot of belly fat left, and I am pretty much at my ideal weight. My legs and arms are too thin, and I am left with this roll around my middle. I have been waiting of money issues to be settled to get the plastics done. Should be very soon now.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.
