To Gain or not to Gain ...
I think that eating intuitively in maintenance is definitely my goal. Unfortunately it has put 5 lbs back on me that I don't care for. If you are comfortable with where you are at and satisfied in your eating, I would not try to gain, it could be a slippery slope. Listen to your intuition, you're a smart cookie!
You are right as is MacMadame. A few pounds may find me soon enough. Today I was at the primary care doc for a routine follow up - I thought on a medication I was using. He remarked that the purpose of the appointment was to follow up on that medication and to make sure I did not lose too much weight!!!! Little did he know that at his office I weighed with shoes on and jacket and such plus several cups of coffee. At home when I got up I weighed five pounds less than he thinks. But he seemed ok with what his scale shows. And I am ok with what mine shows.
What I am doing seems to work for me so far though I live in fear that someday weight will just start showing up again like the old days. It would be a great day to not have that fear but its an ok price to pay for normal weight. Diane

Hi. I just want to chime in on the discussion about people making comments about it being time to stop losing or gain back some weight.
I'm of the opinion that in 95% of the cases - it is not an issue of someone being nasty or jealous. I just think that change is hard for people - and sometimes they say outloud what might be better kept inside - but it really just reflects them adjusting to your new body.
I just returned from 7 weeks of vacation in the US and I'm down another 16 lbs. People are responding to me as if they haven't seen me at all the past year - rather than just missing the last two months - with lots of comments (most of them very complimentary). I personally find it strange that everyone feels the need to comment (when they already know the journey I've been on) but I think they are still just adjusting. After all... I have lost 216 lbs in the last year - they have a lot to adjust to. So I just smile, thank them, and move on. It is kinda funny if you think about it. I still weigh 190+ and they are calling me skinny. It is all in the comparison I guess.

Hi Diane,
I think hanging around 118 is a BEAUTIFUL thing!!!!!! Just enjoy this right now and don't listen to anyone who gives you any negative comments about it!
And please, please, please don't purposely try to gain any weigh backt!!!!!! It may happen naturally or not and you will deal with that when it happens.
You are PERFECT just the way you are! And I'm sure, very HAPPY at this weight, too!
Congratulations on your weight loss journey and hanging out in the teens!!!!!!
Hugs

Thanks Jen. Yeah, I think I will stay with it. I felt like i might look better with a couple of pounds because when I lost weight out of my pudgy face some wrinkles appeared that I didn't like, (but duh I am 59 years old). But I am using retin-A to improve that and thinking about a face lift. Would love to do all the rest of me but need to much done it would go on forever. But I do think I am gonna try to stay around this weight with the thought that a few might creep back in the next year or two.
And I love your pix. YOu look awesome. Diane
