VSG Maintenance Group
Thanks for all your well-wishes!
Unfortunately, I did extremely poorly today. I could blame it on the grub I took to a couple of church functions, but the stuff really didn't call my name. I did, however, choose to eat a fair amount of it. And I also made poor choices for my on-the-road supper before choir rehearsal tonight. Again, it was my choice to eat poorly; I had the choice to do well, but I chose to do poorly.
As Joyce Meyer said this morning, if you don't have peace about something, don't do it! (Or maybe it was Creflo Dollar, another one of my TV faves.) Well, I ate a number of things today that I did not have peace about. I knew it was wrong to do it, but I did it anyway.
Tomorrow is another day, as they say, so I shall yet again try to eat wisely. God help me.

I love starting my day with Joyce. She cuts to the chase and doesn't sugar coat it! Dorothy, we can do this together.

Dorothy, I had been in the mid 150's for months. I decided that I really wanted to change that after a surgeon was a guest speaker at our support group a few weeks ago. He talked about things like fruit not being bariatric friendly if you want to lose weight. I was enjoying some of the summer fruit and decided that I wanted to lose weight more than I wanted the taste of the fruit for those few moments. I cut out all food groups except protein (no cheese), veggies and a little cream in my 1 morning decaf. I find that I personally do better with less choices and it's easier to plan my food. I log in myfitnesspal what I'm going to eat all day and then I stick to it. Having all carbs (except from veggies and my 1 quest bar or protein powder) out of my system makes this so much easier. I'm happily watching the scale move again.
I know this is hard but I give you so much credit for looking at it and trying to change what isn't working!

I am a carb JUNKY to the max. I like you pointing out "choices"; I need to make the correct choice in my eating habits. I know what is right and what is wrong. so, why am I making the wrong choices? I think my wrong choice has a lot to do with habits and taste. I am such a particular eater...don't like the healthy vegetables, many of the low/non-fat cheeses, different flavor proteins, and the biggie...I don't like to cook.
What to do? What to do?
Also, I eat 94% fat free popcorn almost once a day. I like it and it makes me full.

My gosh, Linda, I think we are twins separated at birth! I'm not sooooo much a carb junkie, but the picky eater thing, not liking many veggies or low fat stuff, and hating to cook -- helloooo! That is me to a tee! And add to that a large streak of laziness, and BAM, junk food and fast food. Dang.
Well, best wishes to both of us for better choices!!
