Once again I shall try to get back on track
Okay, my friends, yet again I shall try to shift these 20-30 extra pounds I am hauling around on my sorry carcass. I just committed to go to my 40th high school reunion in two months, and I am NOT going with a backside this wide! Oh please, God, may I do it this time!! It is bad enough to be all bent over and walk with difficulty and with a cane, but I can't do anything about that. What I can do something about is my poundage!!
I have made one excuse after another for the past year for why I've been eating junk. At first it was to regain the 25+ pounds I lost when I was in the hospital and nursing home for a month back at the beginning of 2010. The doctor said, "Put the weight back on any way you can. Eat lots of ice cream!" She didn't know she was talking to a raging sugar addict and compulsive overeater! But I was always an obedient child, so when the doc says do it, I do it. Gobble gobble gobble.
Since then, I have rationalized and bargained with God and made excuses to my eating disorders counselor ... and all the while I've known I was feeding my habit and just wouldn't give it up. I am sick of it and don't want it any more!! It has taken over my life again, and for the first two years after I was sleeved I was free of it. Now I want that peace back!!!
Tomorrow is garbage day. Right here and now, I commit to put every bit of carby and sugary junk food I have in the house in the trash can and let it be hauled away. I will not buy any more. No more sodas. No more snacky garbage. Protein first, veggies (GREEN ones) next, and a few complex carbs if room.
If you are a praying person, please pray that I would have the strength to follow through with this. I cherish the support of this group, and can't do this without you :-) Love y'all bunches!!!

You can do it. You are off to a great start. You've got a target date too. That always helps.
I need to join you. I have to get off the cruise weight before October. I need to be able to zip my jeans again too. I have an entire closet of new clothes to get back into.

support and accountabilty is a huge thing when getting back on track... I have found for me that i have not cheated because if i do i have to be accountable and own it..
you can do this... is it easy? nope but it is doable .. in the last two weeks i have got back to my nutritionists goal, and am looking at my next small goal which will be back to my first goal i set for me.
then back to my final goal i set for me...
I agree that getting off the junk or sugar is freeing and the longer your off it the easier it is to say no thanks..
I for one will be rooting for you .

Yay Dorothy! you can do this!
and I'll be right there with you. I'm desperately trying to get to surgeon's goal (150) and much more below that. Despite my best efforts, the pounds aren't budging. I'd really like to prove him and my crazy NUT wrong and be at 140 (or lower) by my 1 year followup...it's only 15lbs, but I feel like it's 100!

You can do it!! You have done it before, The most powerful tool we have besides our sleeve is our brain, Keep focused and keep your mind on your goal!! The best think I ever learned from OA was a little saying that has stuck with me always and iit is "3 meals a day and Life in-between" and of course the standard saying is "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" Whenever I feel like I am slipping I say these thoughts to myself(most of the time it works and II stop) I also still weigh my food portions which for me keeps me on track, I do not eat over 4 oz at any time for my meals, I ususally eat about 2 1/2 oz of protein, 1 oz of veggie and 1/2 oz of fruit or a (carb) at each meal, it keeps me focused. I am rooting for you and I know you will succeed and accomplish your goal, you have all the tools you need!!!!!!
