BUH-BYE, BMI?
A new tool called body adiposity index (BAI) may soon replace body mass index (BMI) as the
standard measure of body size. A study on Obesity found BAI, which is calculated using height
and hip circumference, to be significantly more precise than BMI, which is based on height and
weight, "BMI doesn't distinguish wether a large body size is due to muscle mass or obesity," says
study author Anne E Summer, MD

Interesting...I never did get the point of BMI since it's just a formula based on height. This new one rewards small hips! Here's a calculator..

Interestingly, my BMI is just below 23, but my BAI is 24.5, which is quite low-normal.

I'm thinking anything that's a formula that applies to everyone without knowing body composition is going to have issues. I think something based on body fat % is the most accurate.
