When I fall off the wagon I can get back on rather quickly..

My major one is no more FEAR. I don't fear people are staring at me because im so big. I don't fear going to a restaurant and not being able to fit in a booth. I could go on all day but that is my greatest feat is no more fear. The sleeve is so kick @ss.

What a great topic!  Let's see.  What is different now after my surgery and subsequent weight loss?  Well...

-  Life is much more fun now that I have regained my energy.

-  I can walk longer, faster and without pain.

-  Dancing is great exercise and I can move again.

-  I take much less medicine.

-  I have not had a bronchitis attack.

-  No more daily headaches.

-  Less time in doctor offices and pharmacies.

Many, many more to add to this list but I will end it here.   Thanks for asking.

for me the main thing is the opposite - it's what I can't do.

now, I can NO LONGER use my weight/size as an excuse.

not to date, not to wear nice clothes, not to take my life seriously.

that excuse is gone, hurray!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

This is an interesting perspective. Many of us "hid" behind our weight to avoid some aspects of life. The reasons are probably complex and vary from case to case. I think I did some of this too when I was so heavy and while I thought of it as a barrier to me doing some things, I never really thought of it as an excuse to avoid some things.

So this is a good lesson - we should all be thinking about whether there are some contructive good things we could now be doing but were avoiding due to weight.

Ten years or more ago a counselor told me to make a list of things that I would like to look back on ten years later and have accomplished. I did that and have done most of them. It might be a good exercise for all of us to do this and come up with things we now want to do now that weight is no longer in the way. Then get after it.

Thoughtful post, Jackie.     Diane

I LOVE that when I fly now instead of having to loosen the seatbelt to the max, I now have to tighten it every time.   It makes me feel to tiny.

(Also, people WANT to sit next to me now because of all of the extra space.)

OMG GREAT TOPIC

1 Cross my legs and be comfortable with it.
2 I enjoy finding new workouts and going to the gym
3 Not being the "BIG GIRL" in the room
4 Being able to go to a mall out of town and I know they will have my size
5 Being able to fit in airline seats with extra room to spare and also the people I'm sitting with don't look annoyed when they see coming to sit with them.
