What was your weight loss from 6 to 9 mo?

I'm at the 6 mo mark and trying to learn what to expect in regard to weight loss during this next phase of my journey. I know it fell off fast in the beginning and slows as I get further out, but I would really like to know what sort of numbers to expect at this stage.

Could you share your experiences with me?

I'm 18 lbs from goal and super excited about getting there.

S.L.O.W. :)

I'm at month 9 now. and it's really slowed down. It's still going, just not as fast.

Pre-surgery: -15
Month 1: -17
Month 2: -16
Month 3: -13
Month 4: -13
Month 5: -8
Month 6: -8
Month 7: -13
Month 8: -7
Month 9: -5 (ouch!)

So, as you can see, with the exception of month 7, things really slowed down, but overall, I've lost a total of 115 pounds, which is pretty amazing. My surgeon's goal is 5 pounds away (well 2 pounds as of this AM, but I only count my weight on Tuesdays...). and from there I'm going to try to go as low as possible (130lbs maybe?, I'm only 5'2" on a good day). It may take a couple more years, but we'll see.

I think its relative and really depends on your current BMI. At six months out, I was 141. At nine months out, Im 125.

I lost 6-8 pounds a month from Month 3 until I got to goal in Month 10.

Here's what I ate, how much I exercised and what I lost for the first year:

from 6 months to 9 months out I lost 30 lbs. so 10 lbs a month was what I was loosing. I have no idea if that is good or slow. I have just said the hell with the number it is only a number on the scale.

I am trying to think of how I feel how do I look if I feel good and healthy and am happy with the way I look with out a tummy tuck which would be the icing on the cake. But how I feel and how I think I look is what matters to me. I am so sick of the number.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Really depends on what weight you are now. I would say expect to lose 2/3 of what you have been losing in any given month. I still have a week to go before my 10 month weigh in and I've only lost 5lbs this month plus my period is starting so that's probably all I'll lose. You can see my weight loss in my siggy.

between 6 and 9 months I was losing 4- 5 lb per month. Months 1
thru 6, I lost an average of 10 lb per month. I was a slow loser. Got to goal in my 12th month.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

In those months I lost 5 to 7 lbs a month. Interestingly it was faster than in months 4-6. Doctor told me to increase protein to 80g to speed loss. it worked. Diane

I lost 100 the first 6 months and just under 75 the second 6 months.....

It's harder, slower and ya gotta fight for it.......

With 18lbs. to go....your way ahead of the curve......just keep your head down and don't let up !!!!

I'm not sure what your goal is.....but as long as your doing so well you may want to go below a little for a little breathing room for some bounce back.....
