after you eat something sweet how do you feel??

Just wondering how everyone else feels after eating something sweet if you ever do this. I was at a baby shower 2 days ago and I did eat a small piece of cake it was so sweet to me because I do not eat this. But it looked so good. Well the next day I was so tired had no energy for half the day.

My husband even noticed this. Wondering if anyone else ever gets like this after eating sweets.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Not necessarily with sweets (it's my downfall on bad days), but I do find that when I eat fried or greasy foods, it makes me feel crummy all over. I feel so much more fulfilled and lively after fresh and light meals, like healthy omelets or fish. I just listen to my body and try to stick with those foods that make me feel "good."

I've had some cakes that were too heavy in cream/sugars and left me feeling horrible. Other cakes that were more organic felt fine though... so maybe it's about the ingredients?

On the topic of sweets, I still cannot stand the taste of any artificial sweetener in anything. I recall this being a side effect - I suppose it just never went away?

How timely that you asked this question today!  Yesterday I played for an enormous funeral (I am a church organist), and I never had time for lunch or my afternoon snack.  Instead of eating some nuts or peanut butter or cheese or even crackers, I stopped at a convenience store and loaded up on garbage.  (Hello, eating disorder!  After all, I DESERVED it.  I had worked really hard all morning!  Bah.)

For the rest of the day, I couldn't feel satisfied.  No matter what I shoveled in my face, I needed something else, because I hadn't had any real nutrition.

But the kicker was that at the end of the day I ate a bunch of M&Ms.  Oh my gosh, I felt HORRIBLE for the rest of the evening -- woozy, fatigued, over-caffeinated, etc.

And the scary thing is that the next time I face a similar situation, I may not make any better choices!  I don't know why the memory of how awful I feel after eating garbage doesn't stop me from doing it again, but it doesn't.

As I said, Hello, eating disorder!

For the first 2 years that happened almost IMMEDIATELY or within a couple hours, believe it's called reactive hypoglycemia or something like that.

NOW not so much.

I am not going to eat cake again or sweets for a while. It just makes me feel so bad. I do not like feeling like I can  not move or have no energy. I am happy this has happened to me. It happened to me like a month ago when I ate half a candy bar.

When eating the sweets it does not taste good so why do i need to test it don't know lol. And it does not even give me energy I guess bad habits are hard to brake. But I just need to remind my self how I feel after I eat them hours later. it is so strange to me.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

The only issue I've had is that when I eat a certain protein bar that is high in sugar, I got into a carb coma about an hour later.
