Been on Vacation and eating like a pig!
Okay so July 11th it all started when my hubby and I celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary with a big blow out party! My daughters bought us a beautiful cake and I wasn't about to let it go to waste so I ate it every day till it was gone and my mother in law had made her famous banana pudding so I ate that every day till it was gone. Then, we went on vacation for a week and I ate whatever I wanted...candy, chips, whatever. I also took a 10 day break from the gym to rest my body. I haven't missed a workout in 9 months and I felt a bit over trained. So this morning I had to face the music to see what the damage was......and.... I didn't gain anything!! I can't believe it. I was prepared for the worst and was pleasantly surprised. Of course today I was back to my normal gym and eating routine. I guess all those years of body building has built up enough muscle mass to withstand a couple of bad weeks. Now, I won't be doing this anytime soon again but it eases my mind.
But when I think about it, I guess the restriction still is a life saver...just can't do that much damage at one sitting...thank God!

We have been conditioned that, if we eat "bad" foods, that we will gain weight, but we gain weight from eating more than we burn even if that more is healthy food.
Lots of time when I eat something high calorie, I just eat less of something else later in the day. It may not be healthy in the long run to eat cookies and cake and ice cream instead of protein and veggies, but it doesn't mean automatic weight gain.
