Plastic Surgeries
Hello,
I was wondering who all out there considered, or decided upon, plastic surgery to get rid of excess skin (thinking of a tummy tuck) or breast lift, thigh lift, other? How about lipo to remove the last bit of unwanted excess fat?
Just curious what others have felt out there. I'm considering a tummy tuck down the road, because no matter what loose skin has naturally tightened up over the first year, it hasn't continued to lessen in the second year on.
When I first had my VSG, I imagined I'd be on the train for some sort of procedure about a year following. However, as that year past, I accepted my new body as is, and didn't want to do unnecessary surgeries. I wonder though, if the sagging belly could use that overhaul.
If you did go through with a procedure, who did you see? If you've come across a miracle exercise or other way of tightening up overstretched skin (longshot, I know), please share.
Thanks in advance for sharing your story,
Ronnie.

I am an avid exerciser and have been body building for over 12 years now and no, there is no magic to save the skin. I have always lifted very heavy weights several times a week and do lots of cardio as well. I still needed a lower body lift and breast lift which I had done last October. I am thrilled with the results and can now see the muscles I've worked so hard for all these years. I went to Houston and had Dr. John Lomonaco do my work.

I am reasonably happy with my body -- I have awful stretch marks on my tummy but it looks okay in clothes and I don't plan on wearing a bikini so I don't feel the need for surgery. My upper arms aren't great but they're not awful and I can live with them.
BUT... I traded in my double chin for a big ol' dangly turkey neck, and I just hated it. So I had a lower facelift and lower eyelid surgery two and a half weeks ago. I'm super happy with the results, but ZOMG cosmetic surgery is NOT FOR SISSIES! The whole ordeal and recovery was about a million times more painful and debilitating than the VSG, which I just breezed through with no issues at all.
So my advice is this: If you are super unhappy with some aspect of your post-weight-loss appearance, by all means go for it! But be prepared for significant discomfort!!
ETA: I used Dr. Martin O'Toole in Pasadena, CA and have been very happy with him and his staff.

I go back and forth about this. I am actually in reasonable shape. But I have a couple of areas that drive me batty and I have some issues with chaffing and pinching when I bike that are never going to resolve themselves.
So I am determined to get a lower body lift and some light tucking of the armhole skin and neck area. I will probably then have to get some breast work done so they stay pointed in the right direction but I'm hoping to have as little done in that area as possible.

I am seeing my weight loss surgeon in November to find out when he will be doing my tummy tuck. I hope for one this December. I was reading and was told by my doctor that if you had more then 1 child that the tummy tuck is the only way to get your muscle back because they sew it together and than take all the extra skin. So Me having 4 children my last one being 13 lbs 2 oz has made my muscles worse that and being over weight.
Thank you all for sharing.. Would love to hear others out there too if you have comments. I only had 1 child and don't plan anymore... I'm considering a tummy tuck, and possibly lower body and/or breast lift, but secondary to my belly. Still pondering, as I amm simply happy with the weight loss I've achieved, that I'm still truly toying with the idea overall.
