DUH! Why didn't I think of this before???
Like many of you I track my food online, but I have always done it AFTER I eat. The past couple of days I have been filling it out in the morning for the day. I usually cook for the week on one day of the week so I have my "go to" foods ready to eat. I know what food is in the fridge. When I fill it out in the morning I can tweak my counts so my totals come out the way I want. It's helping me with my eating because I know what's on the "menu" for later. I am less hungry in the morning and more so in the evening so planning it out beforehand helps me spread out my food for my hungrier times without overeating. Seems like I should have figured this out months ago!
Lol, we are all works in progress and learning new things about ourselves all the time.
Last night as I packed all my food for today I logged everything and realized my calories are too low for today, so I gotta tweak it. And hey, sometimes they are too high - so it's all a matter of trial and error and being conscious of our intake.
I'm glad you figured out your eating/hunger pattern.
I learned to enter my food the night before, since I eat similar foods each day, and this has helped me to stay on track and to make sure that I am staying within my set parameters. I also prepare enough meat to last for several meals and that I can use for lunches. I pre-package my veggies for the week, so I just have to grab a baggy in the AM. I also have yogurt in little containers with 1/4 cup of berries for the week that I can just grab in the AM. It can be a lot of work, but it is better than eating on the run, helped me to lose the weight, and now it is helping with maintenance.
I think we are always learning new ways to help with our eating.
