Almost 2 yrs out...anyone else have this discomfort/pain after eating?
Hi guys!
So, with increasing frequency I have noticed that I am getting what feels similar to a tightness or "runner's stitch" after I eat. The exact location of the discomfort/pain is about two or three fingers parallel to my belly botton over on only my left hand side.
It used to happen every now and then and I didnt pay it much attention. I have noticed it is increasing in frequency and while it is never debilitating, it does range from a 1 to a 5 on the discomfort scale...
I mentioned it to my weight loss doc and his only suggestion was a colonoscopy to see if some of my intestines weren't quite working properly...haven't done that yet.
Just wanted to poll to see if anyone else has encountered similar.
Thanks!

Intriguing. All last week, I was getting a similar pain on my *right* side. It was pretty painful, but as you said, not debilitating. I was starting to get worried, and then bam, it was gone. I wondered if it didn't have something to do with crummy intestinal function ... the dreaded vsg constipation. I take a lot of magnesium for muscle pain and restless leg, so usually I'm not constipated any more, but there is no doubt that the ol' intestines aren't working like normal. If you ever figure out what it is, let us know :-) Hope you get better!

Before I had my gall bladder out, I had pain under my right ribs...and it felt like a 'stitch' in my side. As my GB disease progressed and I had more severe attacks, the pain worsened and when it went away it just disappeared.... It would make me wonder if I had just really felt that pain because it would go a way completely.
Other people have said their pain is on the left side. Might want to check that out with your surgeon.
I had gall stones, but I've known other people with sludge in their GB and get similar symptoms.

I have an on again off again pain in my left side. It's deep under my ribs. I have some fat necrosis from where they pulled the fat away from my stomach to remove it. The doctors think this is what causes my pain.
My point is it really could be about anything. I hope they figure it out for you AND that it can be treated. My surgeon refuses to go in and fix me. Says it's too risky considering my pain level is low and I don't have it all the time.
