Dinner Last Nite-Big Food for Big People

Last night I has dinner at "Westlake Joe's" a local favorite.......(hey PBJ!)

This place has "Big Food" for "Big People"

Just the walk to our table.....I was blown away by the plates in front of people !!!!

Huge portions!!!! (I guess I'm adjusted to VSG portions)

So.......I now have absolutely no fear of booth/bench sitting.....worrying if my stomach is gonna be pressed up against the table. We had a table that was bench on one side and chairs on the other. I dash for a padded bench seat cause my a$$ bone hurts on hard chairs.......

I realize that the table is un-comfortably far away..... I look around and there are a number of people in the "Huge" range sitting pretty comfortably......than I thought....these guys got it figured out....Big food....Big people....Big Seating !!!!!

Now the reason for this post......When the food came.... I had to scoot forward a bunch to eat!!!

A friend of mine started laughing at me and said....."If you lose any more weight.....were gonna have to get you a booster seat!"

Ain't it great, Frisco??  And isn't the amount of food WE used to shovel in our faces disgusting?  When I think of how much I used to eat....  And when I go to dinner with friends, I actually feel disgusted and a little nauseated watching them lay in to that much food.

I'm amazed when people ask me why I think I got fat.  Huh?  I ate like a pig.  What other reason is there???

LOL!  We probably all have reminders of where we came from on a daily basis.  Good to ponder those things!

Good for you on finding a restaurant with large booths - where the heck were those when I was fat? Once in a while if I go to a diner I still eyeball the seating out of habit but actually have to scoot up to the table as well.

Please do your OH friends a favor and post a pic when this happens!!!

wow, what a difference a missing 190 lbs makes!!   i hear you about the hard chairs. may start keeping a cushion in the car. I used to be amazed at people who did that.  And  we always had to avoid booths - still do because my husband is large. There is a good  restaurant here in our small town that has nothing but booths. we never go there for that reason. You think they would wise up as not everybody is a skinny thing like you and me!!!!    One of my pet peeves is restaurant hosts that would always try to seat us in a booth when its obvious my husband can't use one. Are they blind? Haven't they seen this issue before?

Anyway, such a hoot that you had to move forward to reach your food. You might have to grow longer arms if you keep eating at that place!!!   Isn't it astounding how huge restaurant portions have become. No wonder so much obesity. Of course, I ate my share of all of it. What did you find to order at a place with such giant portions?   Diane

Well..... not the best choice.... but it looked good on someones plate on the way in.....

Fish n Chips...... 4-Probably 4-5oz pieces....ate 3/4 of one and a few fries.....also had a couple pieces of Calamari for appetizer.

Had it for lunch yesterday as well...... fixed a plate for a guy that works for me and there is some still in the fridge!

Just a thought.......You could actually order one entree..... and feed 4 sleevers..... would that be a trip !!!! I think that might be against the law or something !!!

hey sounds ok Frisco. as for ordering one dinner for four people, thats what we did with the assorted fajita platter at Chevy's when we were all in San Jose for that wls gathering a few months ago. 15 people and a bill of $139.  bet they hated us. I always try to tip servers extra since its not their fault I can only order tiny.   And as per my post a few days back, actually was at a restauraunt with ginourmous portions and no small options that said on the menu there was a $9 charge per person for splitting dinners. Yikes! no way out!   My steak made 3 meals.  Diane

Hi Frisco,

It was so fun to run into you!  You are so right about Joe's...it is a big food for big people place.  I grew up going there so I have always loved it...but I can't believe how much food they give you (and yes I used to be able to eat an entire plate).  I had a great crab salad  (dressing on side)..ate my small portion and then brought the rest home...could of had a few more meals with it but took it for lunch and shared it with a coworker.  Joes is not a place for small stomachs!!

See you soon!
