how do you keep losing weight week to week and month to month
what is your one single most important habit you acquired to have keep on losing weight and have the weight shedded off on a constant basis
i find something very strange in me every couple of pounds i lose i just stop losing for some time and then it takes me time to get back and i keep thinking even though i am always so busy but there must be something smart i can do to help lose weight and that would help utilize my sleeve in a more efficient way, keep me on track most of the time
i already started to have more better food choices and i try as much as i can to think about what i am eating but i fail sometimes because there are days and weeks when i hardly ever home to eat something cooked and i am always so busy i do not have anytime to think or plan and i am always exhausted ..
this is my biggest challenge.

but i have been sick for sometime which is making it harder for me to exercise ,
and one more thing i wanted to ask .. what do you guys do about the lack of energy lately i have been always exhausted and i get tired really fast i have done a complete blood  test and everything turned ok .. yet i still get really tired really quick ...

Well.... I think you pointed out the reasons for the fluctuations......

If your less active....you eat less.....

I've been dealing with a hernia and a hernia repair and a recovery after surgery.....all total I've been inactive from my normal for about 4 months now...... I cut the food back a couple hundred calories a day....

The best, most effective habit that I have acquired is:

- Always (try anyway) to eat under your sleeve capacity. Eating till your full...or trying to find full is wrong on every level..... Eat a fixed, measured, portions. Eat till satisfied.

- I've also found that I try and only eat after 4 hours...... Ok ....here is where some people are going to say.... I have to eat every two hours..... that may be true for some, myself included. But what I have found is that if you feed yourself every two hours.... guess what....your body/brain gets used to that. If you change it to every four hours your body/brain gets used to it....and the times I've had to stretch it to 6+ hours.... no problem!

The tired thing with good labs is a mystery....I don't have it, but I've read about here several times.

It was sticking to my doctors program. I admit that I was a fanatic about it. His program was high protein, low carbs, items like rice and pasta wasn't allowed until the 7th month. 70 grams of protein and 64 oz of water a day.

I think the low carb was the most important for me. As carbs increase my head hunger.

I think being mindful of your foods and activity and having the ability to change if things aren't going well.

My biggest helper has been always having healthy food prepared and ready to go, so I don't have to eat low quality food just because I want to avoid being hungry.

My biggest help has been journally my food, and having a good variety of healthy options available at home so that I can stay within my goals each day with protein, calories, fats and carbs. Taking my vitamins every day, and using the sub lingual
B12 helps the most with my energy level.

Wishing you all the best, Carol

My tools for success;

Tracking my food everyday, using an online tracking tool.

Weighing and measuring my food and keeping within certain caloric guidelines.

EXERCISE, including weight training. I exercise anywhere from 4-6 hours/week, at least.

Keeping healthy snacks in the house, and not bringing in foods that I will graze on.

No rice, pasta, bread, sugar, or anything white.

I stay on track by eating 3 times a day and I know exactly what I eat. Im one of those people that does get hungry every 3 to 4 but Liquids help a bunch to get me to my next meal. If I do have a snack its a cheese stick or a yogurt. I have not started a steady exercise plan though so I keep my calories between850-950. Once I start really exercising my calories will increase. Also for me I will lose weight really good one week and the next week it slows. But I also see the biggest results in my body on my slow weeks.

My advice mirrors others.  I stick with the program, for the most part.  Carbs under 40, protein over 70, calories around 800, though I am now trying to maintain, so my calories are around 1000-1200 right now.  I never eat processed foods, or sugar, breads, rice, or pasta.  I take a sublinguel B-12 daily to help with the energy.  While I was more in the losing stage I would go days without losing, then see a quick drop.  This was often the case.
Just stick with the program, you'll do fine.

During my weight loss phase I followed my doctors plan exactly all the time. 70g protein, less than 40 g carbs, 600 to 800 calories. I found a group of food items that were easy to fix and I could keep handy and kept "off program" stuff out of the house. Its hard when you work and are tired but it doesn't take much energy to open a tub of greek yogurt, eat a string cheese in a single packet or poach a single chicken breast right out of the freezer. A premixed costco premier protein drink was often my lunch. Not very exciting and I wasn't the fasted weight loser and didn't meet my doctors time goals even though i followed the rules, but I did get to goal and then some more loss. Dr. says for losing weight that eating right is more important than exercise but that exercise becomes more important in the maintenance phase.   And when in doubt, up your protein. Thats how I speeded up my slower weight loss.   Diane
