Anybody getting forgetful?

I just spent an hour looking for something I knew I had carefully wrapped and storred but could not remember where. I finally whined to my husband and he immediately knew where I put it. DUH!!  So I said I didn't know why I couldn't remember this and he said its because I don't get enough calories. Not sure I agree with this, but I wonder if anyone else notices any cognitive issues after weight loss? Seems I read something about this somewhere (but I forget where hahahah).  So Is it just my age (59) or a chocolate deficit??    Diane

I have tried for several days to think of the word "oppressive" I just could not think of it. I worry about alzheimers. I am also 59. I finally thought of the word as I was typing this post, but it had eluded me for days.
Don't know.....

Wishing you all the best, Carol

OMG though I was the only one who forgets. I forget all the time. This last year seems to be worse for me. I was thinking it was because we do not eat enough calories.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I have always been forgetful, but I pay more attention to all aspects of my health now, and so finally started admitting it wasn't normal. In my case, it was undiagnosed ADHD from childhood (my mom says, but you had great grades.. ugh, thanks mom, lol), but I have heard it to be an issue for a lot of people.

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

I think it's age. Because I eat 2000 calories a day now and I still forget stuff.

Oh gosh, yes!!  I hate it!  But it started long before WLS.  I forget entire conversations and incidents and can't remember if I actually *did* something or just thought about doing it.  And my dad had Alzheimer's, so every time I have an episode I think, O Lord have mercy, here it comes!

I"ll be 56 in 2 months.  I forget EVERYTHING!  I've worked with the same people for years and still forget their names.  Names are the worse for me.  Sometimes I think I'm just lazy, but really, I don't remember squat.  My boss will occasionally ask about a patient from a few days back and....really?.... I was supposed to remember?  I hope it's not Alzheimer's or Dementia starting up, if it is, I better be "Pleasantly Demented" as opposed to a wicked old witch!  Is it worse since the VSG?  Maybe, but I am older now too.  Lack of calories?  Sounds good, I think I'll go with that.  Maybe we all need to eat more dark chocolate!
