Just wondering if loosing 5 to 7 lbs a month now is normal. Is this how slow we loose once our year is up?. I loved when I would loose 15 to 25 lbs a month. Can I ask this question in here or do I need to use the other board?
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

It just depends. I lost 12 pounds in months 1 and 2 but for the rest of the time I lost 6-8 every month until I was about 10 months out and actively tried to stop losing by upping my calories. So did slow down from the weight loss of being on liquids and mushies but I didn't really slow down after that. But that's because I was gradually increasing my exercise to go along with my gradually increasing calories.

If you want to lose faster, then you can eat less (probably not practical at this point) or you can move more. IMO moving more is a great lever because you can move as much as you want while you can't eat as little as you want since at some point you wouldn't be eating enough to be healthy.

I would say this is pretty normal.  My losing slowed to about that at 8 months out, so I would say you're right on track.  It was hard at first to not see the scale moving so fast, but I've gotten used to it.  Now it fluctuates up and down (this morning I was UP 2.6 pounds!  YIKES!).  But alas, it will go back down.  I am sticking to program today as much as I can.  After having wisdom teeth extracted yesterday and 2 stiches, I'm not able to eat dense meat, but having protein pudding and shakes.  Just had some watermelon.  Also have yogurt for later.  I'm wanting to chew, but that's just not possible today.... well I chew the watermelon but it's just not the same. LOL

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

yep that is normal!  The last 10 lbs have killed me.  I have been workiing on them for months now.  I have 2.5 more to go  (up a bit today) so it is what it is..and you just have to deal with it.  It sucks though.  I remember Frisco telling me that you have to fight for every ounce at the end and he was so right!!  Good luck.  I just want to touch the finish line!

Yes, it's been very slow for me the past few months, but also my calories have been too high due to stress eating, so it's hard to say. When I buckled down and lowered my calories and exercised for a week before my latest crisis, I did lose 2 pounds that week. What are you eating now? Are you exercising?

I have cut back on exercising but i am kicking my butt to day and going back in the gym and back to riding my 7 to 10 miles bike ride. I only eat 800 to 1000 calories a day but some times i go as high as 1,100.

I just got in a slump with my exercising I use to go every day to the gym but this last week have only went 3 times. I am having health problems right now so i am not going like i should. I need a hysterectomy so that time of month has been so hard on me. But to day I am all normal so i am headed to the gym.

Sitting at home not working is not good for me. I am out of school for the summer due to the health problems and sitting around here is killing me. But to get up and go to the gym I just have no desire to do. I here my surgeon yelling at me for this lol.

Sounds like you are doing fine. I was a slow loser and failed to meet my surgeons goals but at the end was losing 6 or 7 a month. When I was only losing 4 or 5 he said to increase protein so if you are anxious you might try that, but really at this phase you just won't lose as fast at the first months and its totally ok. you will get there. and you are welcome on this group for any and all questions. I lost slowly the whole time, but it was quickly enough for me.
I had about 90 or so pounds to lose, and lost average of 10/month for first 7 months, and then the other 20 lbs over the last 5 months of my first year. Have lost another 5 or 6 since surgiversary. I am very pleased, and although face was very wrinkled at first, it is getting a little better now.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

I can't help but chuckle because I averaged one pound a week during my entire weight loss.  I would have killed to lose 5 to 7 pounds a month after the first couple of months!  LOL  I was a lightweight, and I'm older, and it just took a long, long time.  These days I'd still like to lose another few pounds and at this point I'm happy to lose one pound a MONTH!

I'm 5'2" and 55 years old.  VSG 3/17/10
