x-post from main board -- vacation solutions!
HI my maintaining friends! i'm off on vacation on friday to lovely cape cod (Provincetown!). i've been slowly learning how to eat out at familiar restaurants but kinda worried about the unknown!!! we will have a little kitchen, which is good.
i know you guys have all been on vacation with your sleeves (hard to leave them behind, LOL), so i'm guessing that you might have some ideas!
thanks!!!!

For me this tends to be pretty easy.. I find it helps if I'm very firm about asking for what I want. So for example I'll look for a grilled chicken or steak or something and be sure to ask for no oils to be added, and ask for steamed veggies. In a pinch most places you can order a hamburger patty, hold the bread.

Oh and I'd imagine there's a lot of seafood options too.. shrimp, crab, salmon, etc. Just ask them to cook it with no oil.

I just got back from vacation and discovered (once again) how huge restaurant portions are. I would order something full of protein from the appetizers menu or get chili or soup. I was gone for 10 days and did not lose a lb on vacation, but my second day home I dropped 2 lbs. Just make smart choices and you'll do fine!
