Flood waters aren't keeping me away from Omaha!

I have 2 appointments on Friday with 2 different plastic surgeon offices for consults about my bat wings.  I'm in southwest Iowa and the Missouri river is out.  I would normally go straight west to get on I-29, but it's under water there.

But fear not, I'm heading north to Interstate 80 and crossing that way - or to Hwy 92 to cross.  I used to be able to tread water for long periods of time.  I was pretty buoyant with the excess fat.  Not sure if I could tread water now.  Haven't been swimming since WLS.   Does excess skin help keep us afloat?

The psychologist that I saw for pre-op appt. is going to have group therapy sessions for bariatric patients who feel the need to address food issues.  So on Monday, I'm going to see him so he can get a more current history of my life to be able to be affective in the group therapy setting.  I feel that I really, really need this.  I'll have to drive 2 hours to Des Moines every week for 8 weeks, but I think it will be worth it - if it helps.  I wasn't too impressed with this guy when I had my pre-op consult but I'll give it a try.

Then on Tues, I'm having oral surgery - wisdom teeth.  Then Thursday next week the podiatrist.  So yes, I'm literally being seen from head-to-toe.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Well good luck with all this stuff. Glad you found another way to Omaha. One thing about the midwest is there are plenty of good roads. Out here in California so many are in bad shape - especially in rural areas. Be sure to tell us all about the bat wing stuff. We all got 'em and want to know. The group therapy is interesting. Are you still having issues with wanting to overeat? Guess its best to go to therapy.  Getting the wisdom teeth out will keep you from eating much for a couple of days.

Anyway, all the best on all this.   Diane
