I live in Millard and work downtown. Let me know if you ever want to get together!

A friend of mine from support group had her TT with Miller and was very happy with him. Unfortunately we just had our group meeting Thursday evening and I don't have her contact information. I'll get it next month. A very good friend of mine who has not had WLS just had an augmentation with Perry Johnson and so far has been extremely happy with him too.

A guy I've met at group has had several consults and says Montag is the only one who has been willing to help him fight to get the insurance to pay for his reconstruction. I don't know anything about her abilities. Methodist Bariatric has a yahoo forum. The topic comes up once in awhile. Try looking on there to see if any of these names have come up. I think I saw a recomendation for Miller on there once. There was another that someone had a negative experience with, but I don't think it was any of these three.

If I'm ever up that way on a weekend, I'll contact you.  What time do you get off work?  I don't expect to be finished at my second appointment until 3:30/4:00 ish.  I can always kill some time if you would want to meet somewhere for water. I was going to say coffee, but I don't do coffee or carbonated beverages.  Guess I could order tea.  lol

If I stayed on Dodge St. or, say 72nd St. I wouldn't get lost.  Although, I think I could probably find about anywhere if it's somewhere on a main street.  I get confused by some of the ways they have you turn right and go around a loop in order to make a left turn. I guess I can turn on Gypsy (GPS) and let her lead the way.

Don't suppose you know the Sorensens.  Big city, but sometimes a small world.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Thanks everybody for your kind remarks. Talked to brother briefly again and he is doing ok - a little gas pain which of course is normal (cept I had none).  And I am hoping while he recovers he will spend more time on OH. He has been on and lurks but doesn't post. I am trying to get him hooked up with a couple of guy buddies like Jimbo so he can have a chat friend. He has a lot of accrued sick leave so he can take quite a long time off work and will get bored and hopefully get into OH. It has been such a godsend for me.

That's really great. How did he come to decide on WLS and VSG? Was it your example?

yes, i did call my brother to talk to him about this surgery as he lives far away and didn't know about it. I told him i was only going to bring it up once and i was not going to nag but that i would feel remiss if i didn't tell him about it as it changed my life so much. he was always overweight too and was a higher bmi than me and more comorbidities. so he took it from there and i helped him find the good surgeon in his area. will be going back in a month or too and he wants me to come to his support group I think as an example of how well the sleeve can work as most of them are banders.  Diane

Glad to hear all went well with your brother's surgery. I think that is a really great idea for you to visit the support group with him when you visit.

Hopefully he will come on OH and share all of his upcoming success!

Dianne, Drs Winterstein and Anthome have a a monthly supposrt group meetimg on the second Thursday of each month. It's in the same building as the informational seminar. There are several men who come on a regular basis (one has lost almost 300lbs!) and there is a guy who comes from Lincoln occasionally. I've found it a great way to meet local people who are like me!
