VSG Maintenance Group
Hello! I'm new here.
I'm approaching 3 years post-op. I would have my WLS all over again. I've released 100 lbs. But I'm at that point where I've gotten very sloppy. I need to tighten the reins and do what I know I should be doing. My husband was in a terrible car wreck a month ago. Food has been my drug of choice. I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome to our group, Janet. I am sorry about your husband's accident and don't blame you a bit for some comfort eating. But you are right to get after it before it does you harm as it does no one any good for you to eat unhealthily.
If you scroll through the older posts in this group you will find many many posts from people who have gotten off track and loads of good advice. So instead of snacking, take some time to read through these older posts where people tell how to get back from slipping into bad habits. you know what you have to do which is increase protein, cut the carbs and reduce calories some. get rid of whatever your "pet" junk food is. Mine is peanut butter cups and they are death on me.
Hope you will become an active participant here as there is loads of good insight and fun. Diane

Welcome aboard! So sorry to hear of your husband's accident. I pray that he is healing and your lives will be back to normal. Emotional eating is a habit we all developed, which helped lead us to the point of needing WLS.
I hope you are able to get it under control. It isn't easy for sure! I don't understand why broccoli doesn't have the same medicinal affect as chocolate. So unfair!

Hi Janet,
I am so sorry to hear about your husband's accident. I can completely understand how you could "feel a need" to eat over it. I am so glad that you have caught this now and I look forward to having you contribute to the group. This is a wonderful and very supportive group and I hope you feel at home here soon.
