Peanut Butter Review
My nightly treat is a blob of peanut butter on a spoon. Though its rather high calorie, I started it when I was having trouble stopping weight loss and now its become a cherished evening treat. And something about it makes me feel really full and sated and I don't crave other junk. So its a good thing.
So mostly I have plain old Jiff or Skippy but I tried a couple of other kinds I thought I would mention. First was "Simply Jif" which has less sodium and less sugar. Calories are about the same and protein 8g for two tbs. Can't say I recommend it but i have eaten far worse things. You can tell the difference and I guess I just like the old standard better. But its not terrible and its better on celery or apples or something.
The other one is Better'n Peanut Butter from Trader Joes. It has 85% less fat and low sodium and 40% less calories. But it has more carbs and less protein and contains rice syrup and tapioca syrup. Really didn't like this one. Its way too sweet tasting - sort of like some mutant peanut butter frosting. I don't like it so don't waste your money. Maybe I will put it on a pine cone and roll it in bird seed and make one of those bird feeder things. And it was expensive but too bad, not gonna eat it.
I still like PB2 but the only thing I do with it is mix it into oatmeal with a little soy protein and a teaspoon of honey. Makes a very worthy breakfast.
Above all, this is better than the mountains of Peanut Butter cups I used to stuff myself with.

That would be 2 votes for Naturally More Peanut butter, I really like the texture the flax and the wheat germ add, and would also vote for Blue Diamond Almond Butter and Naturally More Almond - if only it was not 9 bucks a jar!!
I go through way too much of it to pay 9 bucks a jar! :}
I tried those chocolate dreamy kinds and they were nice, but now I am spoiled with the Naturally More texture!
So much so that as you know I have nearly mortally wounded myself out of a job mixing wheat germ into the BD almond butter! :}
