Got a new bike! (fixed the pic)

I haven't worn them yet, but I bought a pair of gel-padded capri pants at the Sports Basement in Walnut Creek. The next time that I ride the bike, I am going to wear them. My backside was sore for about 2-3 days after riding my bike. I am also going to wear the gloves that I bought.  Gel-padded shorts or capris might be more comfortable.

My bike is "ancient." I bought it in the early 90's, so it doesn't have any suspension to it, but it does have multiple gears. A new bike will be on the horizon, if I keep up with the riding.

I remember when I used to ride, I'd get a little saddle sore too. I'm not quite sure whether it's my tailbone or just that I'm not used to being on a bike. But I will definitely get those padded things if I need to. It was really fun to look at bikes and see all the new "stuff" that's available. One thing that was interesting to me was that a woman's bike was a lot  more comfortable for me, and not because of the high bar. On a man's bike, the handle bars were too far away, even on the more cruiser and hybrid type of bikes. My arms aren't quite as long as they need to be for the size frame I need. The geometry of women's bikes is different. Anyway, this bike is a lot more natural feeling for me...

I love your new bike. I bought a bike about 2 weeks ago and am having fun riding it around my neighborhood. I'll venture out on the bike path soon.

Becareful, its addictive! I started riding just after surgery and I now average about 150 miles a week.

It all starts with one bike!

Wow! That's impressive! I remember that soon after we were married, we got a free cheapo mountain bike when we bought a new TV or something. That started my husband off until he was a pretty awesome rider...he ended up doing triathlons...Escape from Alacatraz a couple of times, etc. I don't think it will happen to me, but, hey, I'm open to the miraculous :-)

I wish I could ride a bike.  My knees wouldn't handle it.  Looks like fun.  I'll just keep walking. :(

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
