Thanks! My DH worked at Specialized about a million years ago--he would never ever let either of us on a bike without a helmet!

What a great looking bike, but not as great looking as you Lizzy!  I think it's a little quieter on the streets up there than it is here in Oakland.  I haven't had a bike since I was 12 but I'm planning/hoping to rent bikes in Spain next week, just to see how I like it.  I'd love to get a bike and feel the wind in my face.  There's so many new things to do post-op, now that my body moves so much more easily.  Did you buy your bike up in Benicia?

Thanks, Lee. Bike riding in Spain, now that sounds awesome! I haven't been to Spain since I was 20 when I got to go to Barcelona, Madrid and Salamanca. I absolutely loved it and would really like to get back there someday. Where will you be? I bought the bike in Walnut Creek since there are several big bike places right in the same area...

Lizanne,
We're flying into Barcelona, then doing train travel to Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba and ending up in Madrid.  My son Zach was in Spain about 10 years ago but I've never been.  We concentrated on traveling Asia for several years and now we're back to Europe after kicking it off in Southern France last summer.

Zach's friend is from Madrid so she's recommending the hotel, restaurants etc.  I'm looking forward to all of it, particularly the night train from Barcelona to Granada.  Two years ago we took the night train from St. Petersburg to Moscow and I loved the intrigue.

I'll bring back good updates from Spain.  I'm looking forward to a country that thrives on "small plates".  Hopefully I'll have a pic of me on a bike in my camera!  :)

Yep, you really are thinlizzy!  I love your squishy granny seat.  That will keep your newly exposed tender tailbone from killing you!  I see you have your water as well.  It also has a nice deep opening to help get on and off easy, plus keep you from hurting your bits.  You would have thought that they would have made men's bikes like this.  Don't you think men's "boys" need a little more protection than the current men's bikes have to offer??????

LOL, they're too macho for that! Or at least my husband is, but I totally agree. And even with the squishy seat, my derriere is sore this morning...

Yep, I can hear them now now, saying "that's a girls bike"

Oh my, so sorry your tailbone hurts.  Might I refer you to Mandi's "****yx" pain post, where we discuss ass pad undies there????  LOL

I'm in for a few pairs from REI.  Links included over there.  I want the bicycle shorts style.  I use to have some for horseback riding years ago, they worked.
