IDXA is a rocking option!

Is not it nice to see composition instead of just "what you weigh" it really helps (me) to have a realistic judge on weight/health wise and not just "socially acceptable number based on insurance companies who do not want to insure you anyway" :}

Most excllent job on your defending your dissertation AND near possession of your BRAND NNNEEWWW TOOWNNNHOOOMEEE!!!

It really does help when you are automated/habituated, I think too.

WAY TO GOO!!!!

Thanks you to everybody - but, sadly, I have only defended my dissertation PROPOSAL, not the actual paper - so still a year or so ahead of me before I get to wear the funny hat and require my friends and family to address me as "Doctor" at least once!

I think the next step for me is to work on a weights program - fortuituously there is a huge un-needed garage in the new house which should be a good place to set up a home gym!

I'm so happy everything is going so well for you ,  you are one of my heroines on this journey.  I just wanted to mention that i have found kettlebells and i love them.  I got some dumbbells and was looking on youtube for exercises to do and found kettlebells,  you work your whole body at the same time so you get more work done in less time.  I LOVE them,  i'm so much stronger already,  I'm an old lady so i'm building up slowly but i'm getting there, you should check them out  :o) jeani

 Ohhh, I got so excited I skipped the "proposal" part.  Ha, that's kind of like getting an abstract for a conference accepted - elation followed by, "Oh crap, now I have to write this sucker".  At least you'll get to do your work sitting in your NEW HOUSE.  And it is still super exciting to get your work approved and your path clear.

Question about the DXA - where did you get it done?  I know you paid for it but did you need a referral or did you just call the place up?  And what 'place' would this be?  I'm in Ontario (although I'm a western girl...sadly, our household is a Bruins stronghold so I'm Canucking in secret - it's a story of betrayal and heartbreak, I can sense it) and still figuring out the OHIP crazy...

Actually the Dexa scan is more accurate than hydrostatic testing... Hydrostatic used to be the gold standard but that was before DEXA was available.
