Ok so I am watching Dr. Oz tell people to exercise and my cute little old girl dog is sitting there so I decide "ok, get the dog and get your fat a$$ out for a walk!"  Oh wait, I don't have a fat a$$ any more!!! Took the walk anyway and the old girl loved it (dog did too).

Now I have always purchased the same style of Reboks for 20+ years because I have a hard time finding comfortable walking shoes and this one type works. But I never liked the fact they seemed to wear out really fast and every 6 months I needed new ones (even with low mileage). The soles would get run down on the outside. Fast forward and jettison 125 lbs and as I was putting on those Reboks tonight  to take the walk I realized these shoes were perhaps two years old and were still in pretty good shape and the soles are pretty even. So now i can wear these shoes until something else on them falls apart!  VSG saves money on shoes!   Diane

I think you are totally right.  Just the fact that my feet no longer hurt tells me I am putting less pressure on my feet as well as my shoes, which puts less wear and tear on them, thus they last longer.  Great observation Diane

I talk a walk just about every day.  I love the outdoors, so I don't look at is as exercise, but rather just enjoying the great outdoors.  I used to love my Reeboks too.  They seemed to be the only ones that felt good on my feet.  I hate Nike.  Now I wear Asics and really like them.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Yaay!!

Yaay for shoes that last and your girl dog!!

My shoes I always just wear until they are dead, but I can have a pair of pants now for over a year without the thighs rubbing and having to whip stitch the thigh seams back!!  yaaay!

No chubrub!!
