I definatly have a patter going on that is related to my cycle. Even on my body tracker you can see that when I actually have my peroid, the 2nd day, I get very strong cravings and I'm very hungry. I try to stick to dark chocolate and strawberries to settle it down. I gain 2lbs and then at the end of the week I drop those 2 and start losing again. Rince and repeat. I suppose my body is doing more work at that time and is asking for more calories. Now I have to use my brain to say, "Okay I need more calories, does that mean pizza and soda all day or more protien and a small treat." That part I'm still working on. I win more than I lose so I'm just gonna keep on keeping on.

Elina , well i knew you would get back on track because you are a force of nature when it comes to this. No one is more determined than you. And you have learned things from this and shared them so thats a good thing. We are all going to up and down a couple of pounds - thats just the way it is. Maybe now that you understand it better is won't be so upsetting to you and life can be even better.

And maybe Sublimate has some herbal ideas for pms issues. I am beyond the age of this though still get occasional hot flashes but not the eating stuff.

Anyway, this is one step in learning not to live and die by the scale and have it determine the tone of your whole day (not saying it does for you but it does for some). The scale is a tool that we use to keep our weight healthy and attractive. And you are using it responsibly and thats the right way.

Welcome back (you really were never "away").    Diane

Elina, thanks for sharing the wisdom of your process.

I think Brandi had some wise words as well.  While I may have been in menopause for 10 years now, I'm going to take a closer look as to whether I crave carbs more at a certain time of the month.   I'm in that boat with Brandi and Sublimate, once I get off track, it's more difficult to get back on so I need to keep closer watch on what goes in my mouth.

I've been AWOL for a few days.  So glad you are "back"!  I say try to stick with this and see how it goes.  Don't go back up unless you absolutely have to.  But never more than 3-5 pounds!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
