I always wondered if a major part of bounce back or minor regain was when folks had gone as low as they *could.*

Poor Crazy Girl!  :}

I think that's something I cant explain to people either, if you *cant/arent* getting plastics and you already dont like all your empty skin, being THINNER isnt going to help you feel better when you look at you *not in clothes.*

But I think that's like coming to grips with whatever its going to take to maintain - you have to decide what you are willing to do to get/stay somewhere.

 I think going so low is part of it. But I also think the body adjust.

For example, I've stopped tracking my food every day and I know my protein is about 25-50 grams lower than it has been. But my hair isn't falling  out.

I think, over time, the body gets better at absorbing nutrients. We know this happens with RnY and DS. So why not with us? We know that having a smaller stomach and less intrinsic factor and stomach acid can interfere with the absorption of certain nutrients. So why wouldn't the body get better at absorbing those nutrients from the intestines over time as it does with WLS that has malabsorption?

The thought of that is very exciting to me.  My hair is shedding from my 1 month of 1 shake a day on work out days.  Boo.

Elina, I know you say you hate exercise, but honestly, if you haven't been working out, you have accomplished everything so far with one hand tied behind your back!  I totally get the thing about hating to be short of breath -- really!  But as others have said, there are ways to exercise that don't require you to do that.  And in fact, the BEST exercise to build muscle and stay slim and trim is weightlifting, which doesn't necessarily require you to breathe very hard at all!

If you could find a workout that you truly enjoyed, that weight creep would take care of itself -- really!  And not only that, but it's great for your health, your bone density, and your mood.  I spend an hour a day in the gym, six days a week, and I LOVE it!  Once you find something you like, you will be hooked and you won't believe it took you so long to get started.

Really!  Just start trying different things until something clicks!
