Have any of you noticed that it is much harder to drink regular water since VSG?  I was never a huge water guzzler before, but since surgery, it really feels uncomfortable to drink plain water.  I just tried this Hin****er, it is pricey and I would love to find a cheaper alternative, but it is great.  It has 0 calories and just a hint of flavor so that it's not overpowering at all, and best of all, it doesn't not hurt my stomach.  Now if I could just find it for less than the $1.75 or so per bottle, I would be a happy woman.  I have been drinking tea this whole time, but this is geat for Summer.

Elina, I have the same problem w/ plain water, just can't tolerate it. Sublimate suggested using Safeway brand bottled water. It has some bicarb added to help make it more alkaline. I've been drinking it for a couple weeks now and it goes down SO much easier. And its cheap- usually under $4 for a 24 case.

Thank you, I know about the Safeway water, and it is easier for me to drink it, but I just don't really like water.  This thing really tastes great to me.  It doesn't have that artificial flavor all the other flavored waters seem to have.  It might just have to be a treat.

I've been drinking tea non-stop.  The warmth just makes my sleeve happy.

Marie, I have been drinking tea since surgery, nothing but tea.  I was worried that during the Summer month, I might not want hot tea.  I guess I could also try ice tea or more precisely, room temperature tea as ice anything doesn't agree with me anymore.

You don't need ho****er for tea. I just pop a tea bag in my water bottle. Works best with peppermint, licorice, Good Eath Spice, or fruity herbal teas. I prefer lukewarm or room temp water (liquids). I add some stevia but that's up to you.

Elina, have you come up with a good iced chai latte?  I'm looking for a good recipe.

Hi Laura, I am not a big fan of cold drinks since the surgery.  Anything iced hurts my stomach.  I would think you could just make a regular chai latte and pour it over ice?  I think that is what I would do.  I am going to need to rethink my food for the Summer.

I've been mostly a tea drinker as well.  I too like the warmth but sometimes I just want something cooler.  The only crystal light that I can tolerate post-op is the Peach Ice Tea flavor.  The sweet flavors really bug me these days.  Even the fruity herbal teas don't make me very happy these days. I wish I liked plain water better these days.  I'll look for the Hin****er and give it a try.

Lee, if you google them, you can see all the stores in your area that carry it.  I tried the watermelon one and fell in love.  It is very subtle and there is no artificial smell or taste.  I am very sensitive to that.
