Close to goal and need some pals for help!
I am so close to my ultimate goal that I feel myself waning and giving up my resolve. I'm very happy with how far I've come and how I look but I still have a ways to go. My ultimate goal is 125 but right now I'm sitting at about 136-137. I've seen a few similar posts on here so I know I'm not alone. I am looking for wome people who are in the same boat and are looking for some support/accountability. If you would like to work on these last 10 or so pounds together, private message me, or put it here.
Are you up for the challenge? let me know and let's kick some butt together.

All I can tell you is to review and make sure you are sticking exactly to your surgeon's plan and not sliding a bit. Weight loss may be slower but it will happen. Other than upping exercise a little I wouldn't run out and try to make drastic changes. My weight loss actually accelerated near the end and I really didn't do anything different. I bet when you least expect it those last pounds drop off. So if you want 125, don't settle for less. Its worth it. Diane
Hi Diane,
I keep hoping that I will be one of those lucky ones where the weight just falls off, but I'm not holding my breath. Here are my strategies to reaching that goal. What do you think? Is it too drastic? My weight has been freaking me out lately because it has been fluctuating by as much as 4 pounds. It keeps going up, then down. I'm not sure if it's water retention, constipation or what. I don't have periods anymore so I'm not sure when I cycle. I still have my ovaries but just never pay much attention to other hormonal symptoms. Anyway, here are my goals. Let me know what you think. Do you think it's too drastic?
1. Journal everything that passes my lips
2. lower my caloric intake to NO MORE than 1,000 calories
3. Lower my carb intake to NO MORE than 50 grams
4. Up my protein to a minimum of 80
5. Limit myself to 1 snack in the morning and 1 snack in the afternoon
6. If I get hungry in the afternoon, then drink a protein shake or have some lean protein
7. snacks will be primarily fruits and veggies with hummus
8. limit the sweet snacks, like yogurt to no more than 3 times a week
9. NO NUTS until I reach goal
10. Exercise 5 days a week
11. cut out all simple sugars and white breads. This means no candy, cookies, crackers, etc. If I am craving something sweet, then I will eat a piece of fruit or have some yogurt.
My goal is to reach 125 by my 1 year anniversary on July 7, 2011

sounds like a great plan. you do all that and you will get there. no its not too drastic. what i did for my entire weight loss phase was 600 to 800 c alories, less than 40 g carbs, and 70 g protein, i did that to the very end. every last pound as per my surgeon's program. so what you plan should be fine especially with the exercise which i didn't do much of.
we all have those weight fluctuations and i do too even though i am way past the monthly hormonal stuff. don't worry about that stuff and weigh only weekly if you have to. gl. this will work. diane

Diane,
One thing I've learned is that every program is so different. My nut wants me to be at about 1100 calories, 80+ grams of protein and about 100 grams of carbs (no refined, just the good stuff). I saw her last week and I was telling her about my discouragment and she said at this point she doesn't even want me counting calories or carbs. She said just concentrate on lots of protein and the more the better and to eat only good stuff like fruits, veggies and whole grains.
Today I had 930 calories, 39 grams carbs and 81 grams protein. I'm a little hungry right now and trying to decide if I should eat a little something or just go to bed. I hate waking up hungry, though, so may have a little something.
Thanks for all your advice. I really appreciate it.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I have a little more to lose. I have 18 pounds to go. I'm sticking to under 1000 calories, under 40 grams of carbs, 100 grams of protein. I tried to stay under 20 grams of carbs but it was to hard, I had very little energy. I feel better at 40. I'm exercising as well. These last pounds are pretty stubborn. I am still in the overweight category as well. I will have normal BMI at 140 pounds. I may try for 135 after I reach the goal of 140, depending how I look and feel.
I'm with you. How do you want to do this?
I am trying to stay off of nuts too. I think they stall weight loss. It's so tough to stay away from them though. yet, if I mix some walnuts with my Fage yogurt, it really adds the calories. I don't like that.

Hi Heather!
I am in! I have 3.8 lbs to get to goal and I am determined to get there! My goal is 155. These last 10 lbs have been a major fight! I have had to fight for literally every ounce...it seems like the last 10 lbs are going to take as long as the rest did! but we will get there!
So let's kick butt together ...all of us! How should we do this do this together? Let me know and I am in!
Thanks for setting this up.
Patty
