Do you still take a PPI?

I'm 6 months out & still take a generic Prilosec every morning to control acid. When I take it, I have no acid issues. However, if I forget to take it(like this morning), I start feeling a slight burn in the afternoon. So it's a real, but not overly troubling issue. Just curious to see if anyone out there still takes a PPI or has mild acid issues +1 year out?

Current weight: 170 lbs.

Once I reach goal, this cow will be killed & eaten... 2 ounces at a time.

Total includes 56 lbs. lost on 2-month low carb pre-op diet. Start date 9/13/10.

I stopped taking a PPI after the fist few months, but I know others seem to need to take it much longer. I don know some people that are taking it with the understanding that this could be for life.

I am a little over a year out. I take 30mg of Dexilant daily. Prilosec was not enough for and I had to take it twice a day.

I have to take prescription protonix once a day and sometimes twice. For me, it will be for life, unfortunately...

It is what it is. If I have to take it for life, so be it. It's a small price to pay, IMO. Thankfully I haven't had to "double up" or seek a stronger medication.

15 months out, 20mg nexium 1x /day. I try stopping every three months when I refill the Rx, but so far, still need it.

I take OTC prilosec....every other day. I was on prescrip. PPI before.(daily)....now I take one every other day ....works for me....like you said....small price to pay
