Ok, I may have posted this before but my loss of 125 lbs may have included some loss of grey matter.

Here is an odd thing that has happened to me. My belly button has shrunk into a very small one - perhaps a third of its former normal size. Now it has the same depth, just much smaller diameter. This began after i had lost maybe 50 lbs and continued. I have had no plastics and have some saggy tummy skin. There was no incision in there - only nearby.

So has anyone else had a case of the incredible shrinking belly button? I actually asked my internist about it when i was last in there and he practically laughed but told my there was nothing wrong with it. Don't have the nerve to ask my surgeon. Seems too stupid.

So with every other part of me sagging and loose, this one thing has become quite tight. Bizarre, ain't it.    Diane

Intersting,  isn't it funny the different things each of us notices about our transformation?  I don't think my belly button has changed,  don't really look at it much not a pretty site  lol  but noticing lots of bones i haven't felt in a while   :i)  jeani

nope. just checked. but my feet just got smaller again. It happened at the beginning of my journey and just the other day I realized my shoes were too loose.

yeah, my shoes got a little big too. but this belly button thing is quite pronounced. looks like a little kid or something. go figure. very odd. why couldn't my loose skin shrink up like this?  Diane

My theory is that it got sucked inward as we lose weight.  Thats my story and I'm stickin to it, lol.

I have one incision that is still quite indented.  I think its the one that they pulled my big ole stomach out of.  It's almost like a second belly button, does that ever pop back out.  I guess at a year and a half out, I'm stuck with it?

mine looks the same but I tell you, these Deep Armpits I've developed continue to annoy. well, it's a small price to pay.

good job actually Contemplating Your Navel, BTW, I love it!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

well, I hadn't actually contemplated the belly button since my VSG, but it does seem to be smaller, it is just hard for me to even see it, because it has sunken in somewhat.
I had previously only taken note of the saggy skin on my tummy, and overlooked the navel thing.
Now that attention has been called to the BB, I am noticing some changes.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
