Where's my thirst?
Hey guys, I remember thinking about this many months ago, but I guess it's popped into my head again as the temperature rises here in Arizona. Did you lose your feeling of thirst with the feeling of hunger?
I used to have a massive urge to drink first thing in the morning or after a decent walk or workout. Never have that feeling anymore. At the gym I'd get very thirsty after 10 mins of cardio. These days I have to remind myself to drink after 30 mins fast running. Think I'm 11 months or so post op. I hydrate very well these days and I can continually take in water, without filling (unless I'm really gulping it of course). But I should feel it after a long sleep 10 hours +. Was my second priority after peeing lol.
Not complaining or anything and it's really no issue, just curious if it's just me.
Glad to see everyone is doing so well here.
Alex

Hmm...I don't get thirsty either? Some say the "hunger/thirst' signals are often times misinterpreted..."I'm hungry!"....when we are thirsty! Maybe cause some of us do not experience "hunger" we don't get that "thirst" signal either. ya know, i have experienced this too and have to remind myself to get enough water. I used to sip all the time. I think part of it is I am eating far less processed foods and therefore getting much less salt. Also, I used to take some medication that gave me a little dry mouth so was always sipping, but I don't need that drug anymore.
so maybe there is a med you don't take. or maybe its that your potato chip consumption has been greatly curtailed. yep, i find i can sleep later cuz i don't wake up as early to pee. Diane

Eating a lot of sugar and carbs used to make me thirsty in the bad ole days. I wonder if cutting those out has cut your thirst?
I tend to eat more highly-flavored foods these days, which make me thirsty after meals. Sometimes it's hard to wait the hour or 90 minutes before resuming drinking. For example tonite I had seared ahi tuna and mango salsa. I salted the tuna, but then crusted it with pepper before searing it. MMMMM!
