Will I ever lose the last few lbs
I am pretty close to my goal of 150 I like right at 8 lbs being there. Question - Have I set my goal wrong is it do-able I know I have excess weight around my mid section and legs but how di I know if my goal weight is reachable I have floated around the same numbers for 2 or 3 weeks is the just another stall or is my body telling me "hey your done"
I'm not freaking out about the last few lbs but it sure would be nice to get there :)

I'm right there with you, but I know what my issue is. I've become lax on the rules. Not so much eating the wrong things, but not getting enough protein. I like to get over 100 g, but have only been averaging around 70-80g. I know if I buckel down, I would probably loose the last bit. And I will be doing that, but now that it's summer and I'm more active, I've been paying less attention. So my advice would be to see where you might be able to buckel down so to speak. Good Luck!!
What would you do differently if you said you were done? I figure it's still vitamins, hydrate, protein first, exercise, regardless of done or not. I asked myself the same questions in January and I'm down another 12 pounds since then. I figure I'm not going to call done until I've reached my goal and I'll just keep following all the rules that got me this far on the journey. That said, I just spent a long weekend in NYC enjoying all the different foods. I did come back one pound heavier on Monday night, but it's gone by this morning. I ate a "little" of everything that my son and his girlfriend were eating, but got in hours of walking each day to compensate. I just think this is all such a miracle.
A few pounds ago I decided that the rest of this journey is about self love and self acceptance, learning not to judge myself or continue beating myself up because of the last few pounds to goal. I have to say that it's made all this much more fun without holding an axe over my own head at the thought of remaining at this weight. I'm happy in a size 10 and could stay here forever, but I secretly want to be an 8 so I'll just keep on going.
Good luck and remember that the only thing that matters is that you feel good about your choices!

Hey sweetie, i'm right there with you, except that i don't always follow the rules, just got back from a weeks vacation and well enough said, thankfully i'm still a work in progress and like you i still need to lose some weight around the middle. But i feel so good, and i have noticed that my loss kinda goes in stages. I'm back on track now and i'm not gonna stress about it. I believe we will continue to lose the weight, just maybe not as fast as we would like, but as long as it goes eventually then i will be quite happy. You have done an amazing job and should be so proud. My body seems to find a weight it likes and stays there for a while. Then eventually will start moving again so i am just letting it happen in it's own time. From reading so many posts of people ahead of me i know that we can continue to lose even after that first year so i'm gonna enjoy my life. We will get there, i have no doubts. Onward and downward :o) jeani
Like Lee said, what would you do differently IF you were done? I called "done" a few months ago and my eating started to get more lax and I gained a couple of pounds. I decided to go back to eating how I should and just let my body do what it wants. Most importantly I'm eating and exercising like I should, just not focusing on losing weight. I've lost about 4 lbs now. If I lose too much, then I'll worry about changing things up.
I didn't really change anything except my view point and it made a big difference for me.

Here's my experience: I originally set my goal at 125, then a couple of months after surgery I lowered it to 115. I hit 125 in December and shortly after that I decided to change my goal back to 125 and call "done." But guess what? I'm still losing... very, very slowly, but still losing.
And a week ago, after bouncing up and down the same couple of pounds for a month or so, I decided to really buckle down and cut the carbs and calories, and lo and behold this week I saw 119.8 on the scale after being in the 120s for SIX MONTHS, and as of today I'm down to 119.2.
Oh, and I'm working out hard 5 days a week, plus two fairly light-exertion tap dancing classes per week.
So I guess my take on it is you definitely can lose all the way down to your goal, and you can jumpstart your weight loss at any time.

You must have been reading my mind because this is exactly what I have written. I have not lost weight in almost a month. I'm still following the rules but I've noticed I've been snacking a little too much. My worst time of the day is between coming home from work and dinner. all I want to do is snack. Today I had a little yogurt with granola. I felt really satisfied, hit my crunchy and sweet spots but then my daughter left some trailmix out and I had a handful of that. I didn't really want it but it was there. Old habits die hard... I decided to go work out and hit the gym extra hard. I felt really good! I came home and had some chicken and cauliflower for dinner.
Like you I'm trying to decide if my body is saying "you're done" or if the scale is going to start moving again. I'm trying not to stress about it but like you, I still have some squishy thighs and mid section. My problem are those dang, dang carbs!!
Ugh, ugh! If you find the answer, make sure to post!

shoot, yeah!
I got to goal, and wanted to be 2 lb below goal, so worked for that, then I went along for a couple of months, just trying to "eat right" and low and behold, got on the scale yesterday, and down 2 lb more. Again this morning, weighed the same thing, so not just a fluke.
weight keeps coming off if you just try and keep to the rules as much as possible. I recently read an article on one of the WLS websites where the surgeon said that most of his patients continued to lose for 2 years, although begins to slow after the first several months. So far, I am into my second year by almost 3 months, and I have lost 4 lbs so far in that time period.
I am happy about it, and if wt loss continues to slow over this second post op year, I will be happy with a little cushion below my goal weight.
