Water aversion
When I was on my PPI , drank water all day long. I could not understand why some people said it bothered them. Since I've been trying to get off my PPI, I totally understand it. It feels very heavy in my stomach.
Dr. Aceves did say that plain water is the wrong PH for our stomachs due to the difference in acid production. So it makes sense that changing the PH would help.
I love FUZE but I mostly do drink plain water. I can't drink it cold at all. Every time I go out to eat, I have to ask for water with no ice and a straw. A straw also helps make water easier to drink.

I never heard this from Dr. Aceves, what the heck? I don't have a problem drinking it - and prefer it ice cold - but the taste doesn't appeal.
I have always been on a PPI and take it twice a day, maybe that is why it's OK on my stomach.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I am trying to like plain water again like I did pre-op but only do when I am too thirsty, like if I've had enough salt.
I avoid sugar free stuff so my solution has been to dilute a little juice with water & that makes it taste good.
I also drink one or two Syntrax Nectar Naturals a day, those taste great.

Not sure what you do about this but its a common problem and I have had it too. I can tell you that the farther out you get the less of a problem it is. It was maybe a good year before water was really good again. During weight loss I took a med that gave me a dry mouth and so i was always ready to sip but not gulp. But was able to ditch that med and my water consumption is not what it should be now.
I find hot mint tea to be about the easiest thing to get down. And sometimes it sits until its room temperature and is fine. And it could be iced. So if hot herb tea was ok for you, try it cold or even room temp.
I really like iced tea in general and there are a couple of protein mixes that are rasberry iced tea and one other tea one. I make a glass of any old regular tea and then add maybe half of the packet of the rasberry iced tea. Gets a little protein in and tastes like a tart tea. And i do this with instant iced tea due to lazy factor.
The other comments about ph and such are interesting. Can;t hurt to try. Diane

same here. this has been one of the hardest parts for me. I used to be a waterholic before surgery and now the Poland Springs gallons I used to have hurt my stomach and feel like a brick.
I found out right after the surgery (in total desperation because any liquids where too much on me) that the only water I can tolerate so far is Evian. it's one of the most expensive types around, which is quite annoying, but what's a girl to do?
even though it doesn't make my stomach hurt, I am nowhere close to the quantities I used to have before surgery. I hardly have a small bottle per day. I believe the main reason I can't get enough in is that I feel bloated when I have some, which makes my mind play tricks and reject it somehow.
