Stuck in the middle?

Hi all. I'm coming up on 8 months post op and I'm finding myself winding down from the rules and lessons of VSG and more into the routine of just living. I still have at least 40lbs to lose so I'm not into maintaenance yet forsure however I know if I keep doing what I'm doing I'll lose the rest. I've found my groove and HOPEFULLY the groove I'll be in the rest of my life. So while I comment on the regular VSG board I don't find a whole lot of topics that interest me other than recipes/nsvs/pics and thoughts on why we are the way we are. So I feel like I'm stuck in the middle here, between the VSG board and the Maintenance Group. Thoughts?

Post on both!  Welcome, you don't need to be at goal to be on here.  At 8 months, I can see how the main VSG board can get a little old.  I post on both and many others do to.  Look around at some of the older posts on this board, there is some great information there.  Glad you found us.

Same reason I'm here.  I appreciate the main VSG board & enjoy posting there... but I don't "relate" to most of it anymore.

Current weight: 170 lbs.

Once I reach goal, this cow will be killed & eaten... 2 ounces at a time.

Total includes 56 lbs. lost on 2-month low carb pre-op diet.  Start date 9/13/10.

Post on both boards - that's what I do and, though I'm technically at goal, I still want to lose 5-10 lbs. (I'll never make that goal but that's ok, it's fun to try lol)

well you are welcome on this board and there are many here that are not yet at goal and yet are dealing with more "advanced" weight loss issues. So read and post on both. Either place is about knowledge and finding ways to succeed at any stage of the journey.  Look forward to hearing when you announce you reach goal.  Diane

I def. feel the same way. I'm far from goal (well, 20ish lbs from surgeon's goal, but 40-50lbs from my goal) so I don't consider myself maintenance yet, but the main VSG board doesn't offer much anymore. and lately, some of the posts frustrate me.

So I lurk here to learn from the experts so I can be a successful sleever. and hopefully someday, I can contribute in a meaningful way!

I think you are in the right spot!  I am 11 months out and just started on the maintenance board the other day.  I waited too long.  I too thought I needed to be at goal to be here until I met all of these wonderful people at the No Cal meet up the other day..and they said come to the maintenance board..and I love it!  I still read and comment on the other one..but this is what I need now!!  I should have been here a few months ago so I think you are in the right spot!  welcome!

Welcome.  There are a lot of us who are 6+ months out who felt the need for a change and came here.  I'm not at goal either, but we're past the pre and post opt surgery stuff and need a little more.  Also, many of us have found that getting to goal is harder.  Those last few pounds are stubborn and hard to get off!!!!
