The Cinnamon Almonds
Hi, I gotta admit i didn't come up with this until i reached goal and needed something to take to xmas cookie party. So if you don't think they will work for you then don't eat them until you get to goal.
My surgeon does recommend small quantities of almonds (he says count out 10 almonds) as a protein and healthy fat snack that is satisfying and will keep you from being into other stuff. This is for weight loss phase and I ate a few almonds most days rather than grab crackers or chips. Healthy fats in small amounts do seem to give a feeling of satiety.
But you are right to do what your doc says. Thats the sure fire way to succeed. I use PB2 by putting some into oatmeal but I ate no oatmeal during weight loss phase.
So I eat maybe an ounce of almonds every day in maintenance. usually just toasted ones, not the cinnamon ones. And I also have a blob of peanut butter. I keep my calories to about 1200 and get 70 g protein. what i don't eat is any white carbs - the most carby thing being oatmeal maybe twice a week. No bread, rice, pasta. its just what works for me. but if i keep the protein at 70 g I don't miss them. Have a low carb flat bread sometimes.
Anyway, gl. the cinnamon almonds can save you from eating something far worse on occasions where sweets are abounding. Diane
